Kellen Feeding Himself!

Kellen really enjoys feeding himself with utensils. He really doesn't eat very much without a fork or spoon. However, he still hasn't quite mastered using a spoon to eat liquid-like foods (ie: yogurt!). Here is Kellen feeding himself and Shawn some yogurt! As you can see, half the yogurt didn't quite make it into his mouth! Needless to say, he is still always so proud when he feeds himself!

He didn't stop until all the yogurt was gone!

Kellen loves to join Shawn for a bowl of Cheerios in the morning. Here he is feeding himself some cereal and milk!
....going in for some more yummy cereal!

Kellen loves to get piggy-back rides down the stairs. If we are upstairs and getting ready to go down the stairs, sometimes Kellen will say "back - back!" and that means he wants to jump on your back for a piggy-back ride! Here are Shawn and Kellen making their way down the stairs to play!

....still holding on!!!

Bowling!!!

Last weekend was Alyjah's (Kellen's cousin) birthday party! We all went bowling and had so much fun! We didn't think Kellen would go bowling, but the moment we got there, he was so intrigued by what people were doing, that he just grabbed a bowling ball and started "bowling"! He basically would take the bowling ball to the edge of the lane, and push it down the lane....there would be about 3 bowling balls slowly rolling down the gutter and someone would have to send a fast ball down the gutter to get all the balls out! Kellen had a blast!

Here is Kellen approaching the lane...I think he is about to get a strike!

And off goes the ball...slowly, but surely.....

Here is Kellen having a lollipop at the end of his game (okay...so the pictures are not exactly in order!)
Hanging out with Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa Sinclair....he needed a little break from all the bowling - so Mommy took over and got a strike!

Near the end of our bowling adventure, they turned the lights off and it became "bowling in the dark" (with lots of fluorescent lighting, etc)...Kellen was super amused by all the cool coloured lights...here he is with Shawn trying to get a strike!

Kellen was always looking up at the lights that were flashing really cool colours...here he is distracted by the lights before he gets his bowling ball.

Smile! Kellen Enjoying Yummy Treats!

Kellen loves to give this new smile everytime you take a picture and tell him to smile. He will squint his eyes, and give this huge grin in which all of his teeth must be showing....it is so funny to watch - isn't it adorable!?!?!

Kellen is getting really good at drinking from his "big boy" cup. He especially likes it when he gets a yummy treat of hot chocolate to drink - just like Mommy and Daddy get! He is so proud of himself when he gets to drink from his cup...he will slowly walk to his seat and focuses non-stop on his cup!

Here he is showing Mommy his amazing drinking skills!

Smile! Here he is enjoying some yummy ice cream!
A couple of months ago, Lita introduced Kellen to these little ice milk "ice cream" treats by President's Choice (the little chef section)...well, Kellen LOVES them! Here he is sitting in his big boy Elmo chair while enjoying some yummy ice cream as a snack after dinner. He is super good at feeding himself these days....check out the awesome ability to use a spoon all by himself!

Making sure that no ice cream has been left in the cup (he gets this from Shawn)....

And one more time....giving us that beautiful, albeit funny, smile of his! I think he just likes to show us all of those beautiful pearly whites!

Who Needs Snow?!?

Kellen decided that he didn't need snow to try out his new sled! He found it in our closet (along with all the other Christmas presents!) and keeps wanting to sit in it...then, when he found out that Shawn could pull him around in it....well, that was it! Now, he will go directly into our room, sit in the sled and say "go"...too funny!

Having fun with Pillows!

Kellen loves it when we cover him up with all the pillows on the couch. He just things this is hilarious (as you can see in the above picture)! By the way, if you are thinking that we need to cut his hair....we agree!

Here is Kellen listening to mommy read a story...I love his side profile!

"Hello, Mommy!"

Being silly and having fun with Daddy!

"Where is Kellen?!?!?!"

....still hiding under all the pillows....he doesn't think that I can see him!

Kellen loves to tell stories.....he will sit beside you and "talk" non-stop. It is really cute because he will pause for you to respond, and he will laugh at his own stories.....he's so much fun! Here he is having a long talk with Shawn.

...and to conclude, he wanted Daddy to know that his sheepy (whom you cannot see) wanted a snack (and that is why he's pointing in the direction of sheepy)....Kellen found this particular story super funny - he kept laughing during the story.

....here he is ready to laugh at his own story again...."Man, do I crack myself up!"

For this particular story, Kellen felt the need to take off his pants and show us his belly. He is really into taking off his clothing (but he usually gets stuck somehow).

Kellen Updates....Whew...we are overdue!

Hello everyone,

I just realized how long it has been since I have posted anything on Kellen's blog....ooops! I have been super busy at work so I haven't had a chance to keep up with his blog. But, fear not....I will do so now!

So, what has Kellen been up to lately? Sooooooo much!

Last weekend, we took Kellen and his best friend, Caden, to have their pictures taken with Santa...it was a huge disaster! They both started crying before we even got them on his lap...needless to say, they were bawling by the time the picture was taken. I would have loved to get a copy of the picture (as I think I could have won some money for funniest picture with Santa), but you had to buy a package and they are super expensive!

Kellen is really into extremes lately. He will be so super cute and cuddly and then, he is having a complete meltdown. On the positive side - he will stroke your arm or face and say "nice" and will give you lots and lots of hugs and kisses. He loves to just sit with you for storytime, and if you tell him that you are tired, he will sit beside you and rub your back and say "night-night - shush"....so sweet, it just melts your heart! On the flipside - he is totally starting to show his independence with what I like to call "the baby devil" phase. If he gets frustrated or doesnt' get what he wants, he will scream and straighten out his whole body in rage and/or throw anything that he can find. If you aren't pulling out your hair, you kind of want to laugh (but don't dare!). I guess we are entering the discipline time of parenting...yeah.

Kellen is sleeping like a champion again (insert Rocky music here!). For the past month or so, Kellen has been going to sleep without any problems (I mean complete silence when we leave him in his crib) and sleeps the whole night (or pretty close to the whole night). We haven't had this since he started daycare (as he was so sick forever!)...I must say, it is sooooo nice to sleep again!

Kellen loves to talk. He is really good at putting two words together now. He will grab your hand and say "come wi me"; or after a meal he says "all done"; or if he breaks something (ie: our Christmas tree decorations) he will say "I broke it". He is also saying lots of new words and really understanding his words now. If I say, "Kellen are you thirsty?", he will say "Yeah...juice". Or if you ask if he wants food, he will say "Yeah, eat-eat". He also loves to point things out when we are outside like moon, sun, trees, hills, lights, cars, etc. It is lots of fun!!!

He is still totally into kitty-cats and dogs. He loves to jump (and can totally get right off the floor); he is still a dancing machine (more like a jumping machine); he is still totally into the show, Four Square, and is starting to get into "Dora the Explorer". He loves Baby Tylenol; He loves to feed his fish (although, as of this morning, 2 of the 3 have died :( ); he hates to wear his mittens and so I have had to order mitten clips for him; he insists on getting the mail everyday.....oh and....

He has become the pickiest eater on the face of this earth!!! Ever since he got sick in September, his appetite has become that of a 1 month old baby, and he has become so picky, that my hair is turning grey just talking about it! Everything he used to love, he now hates. He will literally eat 1 little piece of chicken and a couple of pieces of fruit and potatoes (or corn) and push it all away....I really hope this phase comes to an end soon!!! Grrr!!!

And on a final note....I love Kellen more and more every single day!!! I am totally loving this phase of his life - he is so much fun to be with!!!

Cool Times with Lita, Daddy and Himself!

Kellen loves to grab the camera and take pictures of well....anything that he happens to be pointing the camera at! Here is a picture he took of himself!

Here is Kellen hanging out with Daddy in his playroom. He was enjoying having Shawn read him a book. Recently, he has been making this weird smily face whenever he sees that you are taking his picture....I'm not sure if he thinks this is a smile or he is purposely trying to look funny! Either way, it sure is cute!

Here is Kellen hanging out with Lita on one of her visits. He was having lots of fun showing her all of his toys! He was trying to explain how something in his farmland toy works and got pretty excited!

Brushing his Teeth

Kellen continues to LOVE doing what we do...whether it is collecting garbage, sweeping the floor (his favourite!), or brushing our teeth! Here is Kellen brushing his teeth just like his daddy brushes his teeth! He even spits (usually on the counter!) and taps his toothbrush on the rim of the sink afterward....very cute!

Trying out a New Smile..and Loving his New Fish!

Last weekend, we treated Kellen to some fun new things...first, we got him his first Christmas decoration..it is a plastic ball that lights up, sings and has the snow that flies all over the place when you press the button...Kellen absolutely loves it...especially when you turn the lights out and the little lights inside the ball light up!

We also got Kellen his first pet....3 little gold fish in a baby fish tank! Shawn has been wanting to get Kellen a fish for a while, so when the tanks came on sale-we went for it! It is in Kellen's room and he loves to watch his fish swimming around..he also loves to feed his fish, so everyday when he gets home from daycare, he goes to see his fish and says "eat-eat" which means..its time to feed the fish!

Here is Kellen pointing out his fish to you!

"What's with the new smile, Kellen?"
We aren't sure where he picked this up, but lately if you ask Kellen to smile, he gives a huge grin in which he tries to show you all of his teeth (you know...like your best fake "super happy" smile!). Here he is constantly giving us his new smile that shows off his cute little pearly whites!

Playing with Lita

A couple of weekends ago, Lita came for a nice visit....her and Kellen had loads of fun playing together the whole weekend! Here is Kellen showing Lita how his pirate ship works! He was very excited!! Kellen loves spending time with Lita and cannot wait to see her again real soon!
