My Toy Bucket is Fun!

Kellen loves to pull himself up on everything so that he can look inside things, pull things down, etc. He loves to stand up and look inside his toy bucket to yank things out...sometimes he gets too excited and bonks himself in the head with a toy or with the bucket!
Here he is investigating something that has caught his eye.

....and it was his musical ball.

...."Oops, I dropped it!"

...."So I better get down there and get it!"

...."Oooh, my chair! I think I'll play with this instead!"

Kellen has had a super bad rash on his bum for a month now. It sometimes seems to be getting better and then it spreads and looks worse...poor little guy. In the meantime, we give him lots of time without his diaper so that the rash can air out and hopefully, dry up. It is really cute to see Kellen crawling all over the place without his diaper on...except when we have to clean up little pee mishaps!

Kellen is just now starting to accept Mr. Piggy. Mr. Piggy makes a grunting noise whenever you squeeze his belly and it always scared Kellen. He would grab Mr. Piggy and throw him away from him! Now, he just stares at Mr. Piggy and sometimes will feel brave enough to venture over and touch him. Mr. Piggy is very happy.

You wanted pictures...you got it!

Opening the window....why couldn't he do this when it was nice outside?!?! I think he looks really cute in his diaper!
Kellen looks tiny compare to the window!

"I'll get it!" Kellen is obsessed with the phone. Anyone who has called while Kellen is awake and playing in the family room knows how much he loves to play with the phone while I'm talking on it!

Kellen is working on his strength exercises...he is doing his baby squats...1 and 2 and...

....and is now taking a break....to reach for a snack on the table.

....and now has the strength to try and climb up onto the table. Kellen's new thing is to climb anything and everything...unfortunately for him, his little legs are too small for him to actually get up onto anything...but he keeps on trying!

....and that tired him out so he had another snack. He loves the Graduates from Gerber...they are these puff snacks that taste like bananas or peaches or apples and he loves them!

Kellen was dancing and after attempting to do a really cool spin, he fell. Here he is wondering why the table would knock him over and figuring out how to get back up.

....and he decided it would be best to stay down low for a while to rest up for his next dance number.

He finally became aware of the fact that I was taking a million pictures of him so he came over to have a talk with me.
When he's not eating his Graduate Puffs, he is rolling the container all over the floor...just in case he gets hungry somewhere in the middle of the room and doesn't have the energy to make it back to the table!

I put his Graduates Puffs in the middle of the table and he was having a bit of a hard time getting to them....REACH...you're almost there! If you're wondering why he is half dressed, it is because I was changing his diaper and he rolled away from me to get his snack.
Up on the tippy-toes to get more food!

...and he almost has his snack. Good thing he does all those baby squats...he needed the strength to reach for his food!

Photo Comparison...on his favourite chair!

These pictures are out of order (silly Blogger!)...but above is Kellen at 3 months old in his favourite vibrating chair. Below is a picture of Kellen at 1 month old in the same chair.....

....and here is Kellen at 9 1/2 months old sitting in his favourite chair....wow, look how big he is now! He doesn't even fit on the chair anymore!

A bowl, a Tree, Toys, and Swinging from Daddy

Since Kellen is too big for his Jolly Jumper, he likes it when Shawn acts like one for him! Shawn will hold Kellen up in the air and Kellen will swing his legs (and entire body!) back and forth while squealing away!!

Kellen is great at doing his own thing. He really doesn't need anyone to keep him occupied as he has no trouble wondering around and finding lots to keep him busy. Here he is playing with his stacking toys and just chilling out.

Kellen loves to go over to our Christmas tree (don't laugh, we know we need a real tree!)....he will grab all of the Christmas cards we have around the tree and eat them, and then grab at the tree itself.

He really likes to grab at the little lights on the tree. We have to tell him all the time to stop touching the tree. So, right after this picture, I moved him away from the tree....

....and he found his way back to the tree about 3 seconds later.

Kellen loves to play with all of our pots, pans, bowls, spoons, etc. We even have a cooler bag filled with these things in the kitchen and Kellen will go and open it up whenever we're in the kitchen...it's really cute! The other day, Kellen thought it would be fun to sit in our salad bowl while playing with the smaller individual bowls....I never thought of using bowls for this purpose before!
BTW: Please ignore all the garbage and recycling behind him....the next morning was garbage day and we had lots that had to go out!

Our inquisitive little boy

Off he goes to the window...it must be time to check out how the window hinges work so that he can open and close the window!

One of his new things to do is start off at one end of the window ledge and shuffle his way, while standing, to the other end...here he is after shuffling across.

Ahhh, I love you, Kellen.

"Easy, Mommy...I'll get around to closing it!. It is a beautiful minus 20 outside...perfect for opening the window a thousand times!"
Kellen was having lots of fun trying to grab the camera from me!

Yes, I'm still taking your picture!

When he's not investigating the window ledge, he is investigating the baby gate, the playpen or the door stopper. Here is Kellen unsure what he wants to play with first...the door to the baby gate or the playpen...he went back and forth for about 5 minutes.

...and settled on the door to the baby gate.

He is very proud of himself for being able to close it all by himself! Here he is looking at daddy in the other the room and letting him know that he cannot come in!
....never mind, daddy can come in to play now.

Not feeling well, guitar time and just hanging out

Kellen is just getting over a bad cold...he has been having lots of trouble sleeping because of his cough and stuffed up nose. Here he is after crying in his crib trying to sleep. Poor little guy....look at how flushed his little cheeks are. Nothing a little snuggle from daddy can't fix!

Kellen continues to learn how to play guitar. He is getting really good at hitting the strings to make music...and at pulling himself up on the guitar...I think we have a natural musician on our hands!

Another really cute thing that Kellen is doing now is that he dances (well, it is more of a really fast bob while standing) whenever we sing to him...he gets so excited and will stop dancing until you start singing to him again!

I love how Kellen is looking at Shawn in this picture....someone loves his daddy!

Every single time Shawn and I are eating in our main room, Kellen immediately comes over and wants some of our food. It is so cute to watch him just stand at the table and eat his food. This is a back view of Kellen after he pushed me out of the way to get to my food!

Kellen trying to climb my leg after eating my food.

Kellen loves to explore our place...his new thing is to go over to the wine bottles and bang on them...not good. Here he is on his way to the wine rack...again.

Climbing under the chairs.

I love this picture! I took this picture today while Kellen was playing with his new stacking toys that Tanya got him for Christmas (which he loves!). I love how the sun was shining on him while I took the picture...and the fact that he is giving me one of his beautiful smiles!
