Crazy Toronto Heat...part 2

Bathtime works everytime! Here is Kellen chillin' in the bath and cooling off from the heat. I'm convinced he could spend the whole day in the water!
It has been so hot in Toronto these past couple of days...the humidity has pushed the temperatures way into the low 40's...and we've had crazy lightning storms! Kellen has been a really trooper during all of this (and he just had his immunization shots!)...he is still sleeping well (for him) and has been a very happy baby!

Okay...these are just really cute pictures of Kellen hanging out (again without clothing!) after one of his naps today...what a cheerful little guy!

No I won't go to Sleep!

Yesterday, Kellen just refused to go to sleep for his naps..and when he finally did go to sleep, he was awake within 20 minutes! I have not had this much trouble with him at nap time in ages (Kellen is a great napper...he naps 3-4 times a day and for atleast 1 hour and has a long nap in the afternoon for 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours!)

So, after fighting sleep all day, I put him in his swing in front of the air conditioner...10 minutes later, he was out cold! (as you can see in his pictures!) He was so cute just slumped over in his swing...he slept for 2 hours!

Fun times with Daddy

Kellen loves hanging out with Daddy! Here they are talking, laughing, and playing together during the crazy heat...good thing for the air conditioner! Kellen has also taken a liking to this blankie...it seems to be his favourite for cuddling with now! Also, he has officially found his thumb (pictures to come soon!)...he sucks his left thumb quite often now during the day or when he is getting tired...he even puts his index finger over his nose while he sucks his thumb...it is so cute!

Here is Kellen enjoying a book being read by Daddy...he just loves to listen to the stories while looking at the pictures.

Here is Kellen with mommy before bathtime yesterday....mommy sure does love him!!!

Drumroll please...

Kellen had his 4 month check up today (He will be 4 months in a week). He did so well during his 2 immunization needles...he gave a good cry after the first needle, but only for about 30 seconds. He only whimpered after the second needle...what a trooper!

He weighed in at 16 pounds, 11 ounces!!! He is also 26 1/2 inches long!!! That puts his weight and height in the 90th percentile for baby boys!! When he was born, he was in the 10th percentile, and at 2 months, he was in the 50th percentile....wow, has he ever grown!!!

Naked Baby!

It had to be done...we had to post some pictures of a naked Kellen! We took these pictures of Kellen being all naked and cute right before his bathtime yesterday. Kellen just loves to be naked and hanging out before his bath...it must feel so good to have his diaper off and let his skin just breath!


Before bathtime yesterday, Kellen was hanging out with daddy watching Family Guy....he seems to enjoy that show as much as Shawn!

I feel better now!

Kellen was not feeling well these past couple of days...whenever he ate, he would throw up and then continue to spit up for an hour afterward. He had no energy and only had one wet diaper all day....not good. The good news is that he kept all his milk down since last night and after lots of sleep with mommy, Kellen seems in better spirits today! He is eating well and enjoying himself again!

Is it me, or does Kellen look like he has gotten taller? He looks so long to me lately...we'll find out how tall he is on Friday!

Can I just point out that the last picture posted is just too cute for words! Look at that smile...it just melts my heart!

Foot Size...have my feet grown?

Here are pictures taken of Kellen comparing his foot size to Shawn's foot size...the first picture was taken when Kellen was 2 weeks old..the second picture was taken when Kellen was 3 1/2 months old....any difference? I'm not sure I see much of a change, except for colour of his feet and his ability to now move his toes! However, look at how small Kellen is in the first picture? Ahhh!!

Again, Kellen seems to be changing and growing on a daily basis. Lately, he has continued to show signs of teething..he constantly has drool all over his face and clothing! He also loves (and seems to need) to have his hands in his mouth...or anything else he can find! He also continues to make lots of new noises. He has learned how to sigh and to squeal...and he can squeal right in the middle of a crying fit (I can already picture my future in a store with Kellen doing this new noise and me dying of embarassment!). He is also getting much better at trying to roll over...if he's on his back, he can roll onto his side! He was able to roll from his tummy onto his back, but he forgot how to do this, so he just keeps kicking his legs up in the air while lying on his tummy hoping that something happens!

Cousin Parker's Baptism

This past weekend (on Father's Day!) Parker had his baptism in Brockville. Parker was so cute and so well behaved...he walked to the church all by himself (well, with some help from mommy and daddy), played with the hymn books, and loved touching the holy water!

I can roll over!

Is this the face of someone who doesn't want to go to sleep or what!

Kellen hanging in his new chair that his cousin Parker lent him! He is such a big boy now...sitting up with no help! Notice he still loves to suck and bite on his hands, wrists and fingers...one day he will find that thumb!

My Trip to Brockville

Kellen and I went to Brockville for a couple of days to visit with Grandpa and Abuelita. We had so much fun hanging out and relaxing! Kellen couldn't believe how nice and quiet it was for his naps! Kellen got a chance to show his grandparents all the fun things he does during his day...talking, having books read to him, playing on his playmat, kicking up a storm in the bath, looking at his Abuelita's flowers and yes, screaming and fussing like no other baby can each time it was time to sleep!

Here is Kellen finally meeting Janique's little boy, Travis. Travis was born 1 week before Kellen! What a great visit...just the boys all hanging out with a bunch of mommies!


Before we came home to Toronto, we stopped in for a quick lunch with Uncle Garrett and cousin Parker. As you can see, Parker was very interested in Kellen! It was really funny to see how much Parker just looked at Kellen and wanted to touch him (and at one point, stick his fingers in Kellen's mouth!).

Here is Kellen hanging out with Grandpa and Abuelita before bedtime...he just loved being in Brockville and getting a chance to be with his grandparents!

Oh the wonderful things my limbs can do...

The above are just some pictures of Kellen over the last couple of days hanging out with me...don't ask about his weight...yes, it continues to climb..he is around 16 pounds now (Kellen says its because of the heat..he's feeling a bit bloated)...he didn't gain much weight in his 2nd month (just shy of 2 pounds), so he is making up for it this month by gaining almost a pound a week!

Here is daddy giving Kellen his bottle last night...we are trying out a bottle before bed to help get him to sleep longer - it hasn't helped yet, but we're hoping soon! At first, I thought Kellen was giving me some attitude in the picture (see his finger that is up)...but he's off the hook...wrong finger!

Kellen has been going crazy with putting his hands, fists, fingers in his mouth all the time...here he is sucking on his hand again. Shawn and I think he is going to be a lefty because he usually puts his left hand in his mouth...he also kicks more with his left leg...left-handed people rule!

Here is Kellen preparing to roll..yes, that is right, he now rolls forward (and gets stuck...it's the belly). If you sit him up, he brings his legs up to his chest, and swings his arms up and out, then just drops in the beginnings of a somersault position...then he wonders what to do next.

Yesterday, Kellen truly discovered that his arms and legs really are attached to his body and that he controls their movements...so, he has been kicking and bringing his arms in front of his face all day..and night! It looks like he is trying to eat his feet and drive a car all at the same time! It is really funny to watch him looking at his hands...he just holds the "driving the car" position for a while...just staring at his hands.
Unfortunately, he needed to play and show me his hands and feet from 3-5am last night...not so fun! He rewarded me with sleeping in until 9am!
