Kellen on Film

This is a video of Kellen hanging out with Shawn. Kellen was helping Shawn sort through some materials that he needed to do some electrical work. I was trying to get Kellen to say some words, but half the time, he was too preoccupied with Shawn's tools to care! It is super cute to watch when he repeats "night-night" and lies down!

Here is an example of Kellen using Shawn as his very own pony ride!! It is so cute at the end of the video - Shawn asks for a kiss and Kellen gets off his back to give him a kiss...ahh!!

Playing with Daddy

Going for a pony ride on daddy! Kellen could do this all day!!! (I don't think Shawn shares his feelings on this!)

Anything and everything that Shawn does, Kellen wants to help with or mimmick. It is so cute to watch them doing things together. Shawn is doing some electrical work in our basement, and Kellen has insisted on being there for every single part of it.....if Shawn is sorting through equipment, so is Kellen. If Shawn is working with wires, so is Kellen....honestly, it is so cute!

Here is Kellen helping daddy sort through some materials that he will need for wiring a new electrical outlet.

"I found the one you need, daddy!"

One of Kellen's new favourite things to do is to climb onto Shawn's back and go for a pony ride. It is so cute to see...Shawn will say "hold on" and Kellen leans forward, puts his head on Shawn's back and holds on with a big bear hug squeeze....ahhh! They will walk around like this and then Kellen falls off and they start all over again! It is funny because after about 5 attempts at this, Kellen gets soooo tired and can barely hold on!
BTW: I realize this is the same picture as the first one posted, but you get to see more of Kellen in this picture (not so close up!)

Going for a pony ride on daddy's back (the picture was taken from far away and while I was moving....so, I apolize for the blurriness!)

Baby close up!

Another game that Kellen and Shawn love to play is when Kellen will hang out in his house of balls and Shawn comes to the door and takes one of the balls. Shawn will then "run" away saying "it's my ball!", and Kellen bolts out of his house to run after Shawn and keeps repeating "no...mine!" and will get the ball back from Shawn. Then, Kellen runs as fast as he can back to his house, where he will proceed to literally leap through the front door!

And again....as you can see, Kellen will take every opportunity to climb on Shawn so that he can go on a "pony ride". I kind of feel bad for Shawn because he can never lie down without Kellen running up and jumping on him! However, it is just too cute to watch, so I guess it's okay!

Pumpkinville!

Today, we went to Pumpkinville. It is a free day for all families in Ajax. It is in a huge conservation area about 2 minutes from our house. We went with the Moore family and had so much fun! Here is Kellen getting ready to throw some hay around....it was really funny to watch because Kellen and Caden would stare at one another and then just bend over and pick up a piece of hay and throw it right down again. All the other kids (bigger kids) were running around having hay fights...this was there idea of a hay fight!

Shawn, Caden and Kellen looking at all the baby animals in the petting zoo.

Kellen tried his hand at miniature golf...as you can see, he didn't quite get the hang of it as he kept running to the next station and just putting the ball through the hole...very funny!

Sharlene, Raymond and Caden on the horse-drawn wagon ride! Both Caden and Kellen were super quiet the whole ride...they just kept staring at the horses!
And us!!! We had lots of fun together!

Caden and Kellen sitting on the top of a pumpkin that weighed just shy of 1000 pounds! They looked so small on the top of this pumpkin!

Kellen loved sitting with all the baby pumpkins...he loved trying to hold them!

Family picture on the hay stack!

Kellen and Caden hanging out on the haystack and giving each other Hi-Five!

...and holding hands...because that is what best buds do! They are honestly the cutest friends!

There was an area that you could buy pumpkins that have already been carved....Kellen was super excited to see all the faces and "pumpkin gunk"...he couldn't stop touching it!

...getting comfortable on a pumpkin while he kicks at the pumpkin gunk! He ended up with lots of the gunk on his bum from sitting on the pumpkin!

Smiles! Kellen was having so much fun!

Doctor appointments

I thought I would just keep everyone in the loop about how Kellen is doing. He continues to have a double ear infection and his ears supposedly look pretty bad. His ear drums are bulging and are super red. He had a hearing test last week and it turns out that he has temporarily lost 40% of his hearing due to these ear infections. He is scheduled for surgery on October 26 to have tubes put into both ears. In the meantime, he continues to be on antibiotics (this is his 4th round in 2 months) and in alot of pain. He keeps grabbing his ears and saying "ouch"....poor little guy. They also said that there is a chance that his ear drums may rupture before his surgery....so, needless to say, we are all looking forward to the surgery day! (Even though I know I'll be a nervous wreck as he has to be put under general anesthesia).

Today, Kellen had his 18 month check up. He is hitting all of his milestones and is ahead of most of them! He is 30 pounds now and 34 1/2 inches which puts him way above the 100th percentile for height! The doctor can't believe how big he is for his age and thinks he will be a very tall guy when he grows up!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I thought this was a cute picture of Shawn and Kellen just staring at each other while deep in conversation. They were trying to figure out what to do next on their long list of games to play.

Here is Kellen laughing at daddy....he thinks that his daddy is the funniest guy ever!

On Thanksgiving, we played outside for a while and took a nice long walk because the weather was actually okay. Here are Shawn and Kellen hanging out while we went for a little hike behind out house.

Wanting to get up and be carried by mommy...and of course, mommy complying!

Here is our pumpkin! Kellen thinks that pumpkins are pretty cool to touch...he gives his pumpkin a kiss every day! We're going to Pumpkinville (which is a farm in Ajax that does a whole Halloween theme for kids) next weekend...can't wait!

Over the Thanksgiving weekend, we went and played at the park....Kellen loves, loves, loves the park! We had lots of time on our hands to just hang out as we decided to not travel this past weekend since Kellen has been so sick with ear infections. It was the perfect weekend to just relax and enjoy each other....although, we really did miss seeing everyone on Thanksgiving!

Kellen loved to play with the musical sticks on the playground....he is super talented at the whole music thing!

Chasing daddy around.....Kellen can run really fast now...you actually have to jog to keep up with him now!

Swing time!

Going for a walk after dinner....ooh, it gets so dark now!!! Good thing Kellen is all bundled up with his snacks!!

Hanging out on the counter of our bathroom while mommy gets ready for the day.

Kellen's great Nana and Grandpa treated him to this really nice spring/fall jacket. It fits him perfectly! Here he is wearing his new jacket....looks like the outfit might be missing some pants!

Kellen has been showing alot more interest in his potty lately. He will now run to his potty and want you to take his diaper off so that he can sit down on his potty. However, he has always alerady gone to the bathroom in his diaper by the time we sit him on it! Atleast he is showing some interest!

My New Vest and Hanging out on a Sick Day

On one of many sick days that Kellen and mommy have spent together in the past month, we decided to sing some songs together. Here we are singing "Head and Shoulders..". Kellen is super good at pointing to his head!

He was also kicking a little ball around...the ball went under the television and he was quick to point it out. He was also eating a cookie (hey...he was sick!) and ended up getting chocolate chips all over his face!

Still eating his cookie. If you attempt to take away a cookie from Kellen (or anything else that is sweet) he will literally shove the entire thing in his mouth and put his hands out in the "all done" pose....it is actually pretty funny to watch!

....still eating his cookie. It was getting pretty tiring eating while standing up, so he needed to sit down for a while.

We got our new couch two weeks ago...and we love it! Our older couch was great, but the cushions on one part of the sectional never fit properly, so Leon's sent us a new couch! It isn't the same as the old one, but it is actually much more comfy! Luckily, the Moore family was over visiting when it arrived, so the boys helped put the feet on it....here is Raymond trying to get the couch ready, and having to hold up Kellen and Caden who thought it was hilarious to stand on the couch in this position!

Hanging out with Daddy, Raymond and Caden. Sharlene bought a vest for Caden, but it was too big for him, so she gave it to Kellen. It fits Kellen perfectly and he looks so cute in it!

Running around in his new vest...he knows he looks good!

...and doing a little twirl so that he can run in the other direction!

Mommy's Little Helper

Kellen's new thing to do is to help me whenever I am putting dishes into or taking dishes out of the dishwasher. He MUST help me out every single time! His speciality is handling the cutlery...and his plastic bowls. It is really cute how he organizes everything to fit just right! Nothing like training them young!

Here is Kellen picking up his artwork that fell off the fridge onto the floor. He was quick to pick it up and try to put it back where it was....Lately, Kellen really wants to help with putting things away or putting things back where they came from....it has taken alot of "let's put this back", etc (and I think lots of help from daycare!) to get him to this point!

...Then he noticed that the dish towel had fallen off of it's spot from the front of the oven...so, he quickly went and picked it up and tried to fold it and put it back up!

After helping mommy out, he needed a little snack...

"I see you!!" Kellen loves to look at himself and anyone else who is around in the glass of the cabinet.

It was really cute to watch Kellen just sitting on the floor, playing peek-a-boo with himself in the glass. He was doing this for about 5 minutes before I took the picture.

He saw me dusting the top of the cabinet, so he started "dusting" the front of it....it was more like leaving lots of baby fingerprints all over the place, but it's the thought that counts!
