Playing Ball in Kellen's "Living Room"

Kellen loves to play upstairs in, what he always refers to as, "Kellen's living room" (aka: our spare room). He has lots of toys in the room, and he loves to throw his paper airplanes around, or throw the ball around (and try to play a little basketball!).

Here are some pictures from the other day - Kellen and I were hanging out in his living room, enjoying a little game of hoops.
Someone is happy!
Kellen has been trying out some new dance moves.....they got a bit out of hand, and he fell off the bed, mid-dance move!
Wow....what is happening!?!?
So, we went back to playing ball.
Here he is trying to show me what happened during his dance move disaster.

Saturday at the Park

On Saturday afternoon, we spent lots of time going for a walk and hanging out at the park with Caden. Here is Kellen climbing up the stairs to pretend he was on a pirate ship.
Best friends playing on the slide together.
...and up we go again!
Happy little boy pretending to be Jake (from Jake and the Neverland Pirates)
Checking out the Kinder Surprise that Caden brought for him (it contained a mini Mader)!
Kellen was very happy to get a mini Mader! (and to be outside all day!)
On our way home from our walks and our adventures at the park.
Mini Mader being introduced to big Mader (and Mader's best friend, Mr. Digger).
....and, just a cute picture of Kellen in the car.

Indoor Soccer

The ground was pretty wet this week, so soccer was moved indoors (for the first time). Kellen really enjoyed playing indoors! Here he is being a super good helper for Coach Steve.
Stretches.
Talking about indoor soccer.
Sitting at the front of his line. They were about to start a relay race.
Run, Kellen, Run!!!
Running as fast as he can during a relay race. They had to collect each pylon - one at a time - and return it to the front of the line.
Sitting against the wall with his team and listening to Coach Steve.....the boys were having trouble transitioning to indoor soccer since the ball was moving much faster. So, Coach Steve showed them how to slow down the ball...it was pretty funny to watch these little guys trying to do this (maybe next week will go a bit more smoothly!)
Three cheers for Little Kickers!!! Hip, hip, hooray!!!
Running over to Mommy and Daddy after the group cheer.
My happy little boy.

Daddy and Kellen - Enjoy Some Down Time

I always love to watch Kellen and Shawn hanging out together. Here they are checking out some Disney Junior computer games.
Enjoying some quiet time last weekend. They were having fun playing a game on the IPod. They like a game called "Cut the Rope". Kellen is really good at it (way better than I am!).
....and later that day, Daddy needed a nap! Kellen wasn't tired enough to fall asleep, so he just decided to hang out near his Daddy and watch some television.
.....Wait...someone is getting tired.....
....And, more fun on the IPod!!

Fun Times at Rotary Park

This past weekend, we (along with the Moore family) went down to Rotary Park. It is a huge, and absolutely beautiful park on the water. It is only about 5-10 minutes away from us. Ajax hosts many events at Rotary Park (family days where there are loads of free foods, games and activities for little ones).
Kellen and Caden started off their fun by going down to the beach and throwing stones in the water.....Shawn thought it looked like fun, so he joined in on the fun too!
Hello cool boys in their super cool sunglasses.
Best friends.
Rotary Park has two park areas...one for toddlers, and the "big boy" park. Naturally, Kellen and Caden only wanted to play in the big boy park! Here is Kellen running up the stairs for one of his many, many runs down one of the big slides.
Here is Caden getting a boost from Sharlene.
Kellen loves these wobbly bridges!

Climbing and jumping......ahhh, the energy of a 3 year old!
Kellen loved this big, "twirly" (as he called it) slide.
Kellen and Caden formed a little train on their way down.
.....and then Kellen thought it would be fun to try and climb up the slide - backwards - and upside-down. Seriously, boys will be boys!

Kellen loved trying this thing out - it is a series of 4 wobbly discs that you have to step across. He needed a little help with the whole coordination thing!
And last, but not least - Kellen's favourite thing to do at the park......the swings!!!

Enjoying Time with Lita and Grandpa

I realize that it has been a while since I last posted on Kellen's blog......my apologies!!! School started two weeks ago, and any spare time has all but disappeared!! I will try to keep up a bit more!

Kellen has been up to his normal stuff. He continues to play soccer every Saturday morning. He really enjoys soccer - especially his coach (he is really fun and great with the kids).

He is getting so big. He is comfortable playing by himself in our spare room (what he calls "Kellen's living room") and it is so cute to listen in on him - he will be talking to his cars and toys, and will break into a song (usually the theme song to "Jake and the Neverland Pirates").

He has been more into spending time with Mommy. Whenever he plays a game, he always wants Mommy to be his partner....or, when he is watching television, he always wants snuggles from Mommy (and Mommy has no complaints!).

He is really into giving you kisses and telling you that he loves you. He will spontaneously say "Mommy, Daddy, I just love you!" He seriously knows how to melt your heart!!!

However, with his adorable lovings, he has been really pushing his independence over the past few weeks. He is testing boundaries by ignoring requests, or moving very slowly if you ask him to do something (basically, anything to drive you crazy!). But, then he gets upset when he is disciplined, and quickly tells you that he was going to do it, but first he just had to tell you something (seriously, this is what he always does...very odd). Ahhh, kids!

Now, that you are all caught up on what is new with Kellen......back to the blog!! Two weeks ago, Lita and Grandpa came up for a visit. Kellen was very excited when Lita suggested that they bake banana bread together (Kellen loves to bake). Here they are baking yummy banana bread.

And, later that day, Kellen had lots of fun hanging out with Grandpa.....something was very funny between them!
