My new Car and my new Shoes for some beautiful weather!

Toys R Us had a really great sale on this past weekend so we were deciding on what outdoor toy to get for Kellen. He loves these little cars (he always goes to them at his playgroups) and he went right for it at Toys R Us...it was really funny because Shawn brought down another type of car for Kellen to try and all he did was look at Shawn and close the door to his little car - end of discussion!

Here he is taking his new car out for a ride and checking the lights to make sure they are in good working order.

We decided to keep the bottom on the car (so that his feet don't actually touch the ground) since Kellen doesn't quite understand what to do with his feet! So, here is Shawn pushing him around in his car!

I also picked up a pair of baby summer shoes (I forget what you call these type of shoes...all the parents out there, you know what I'm talking about!). Kellen loves them!!! Here he is walking around the house trying them out before heading outside.

Lately, Kellen is all about picking things up (or sweeping things up) and either putting it in the garbage, or giving it to you to put in the garbage (I've created a neat freak!). Here he is sweeping the driveway (with the BBQ brush!) and putting little stones in the garbage.

Checking to make sure that the garage door is actually closed (while still holding onto his BBQ brush...just in case there are more stones to brush off the driveway).

Kellen is a super-pro walker now! He walks all over the place and can walk up and down little hills (emphasis on the word "little"). He has even started to run - and it is super cute!!

While sweeping the inside of the garage, Shawn pointed out an ant to Kellen...Kellen was super excited and quickly went over and squashed it while attempting to pick it up. Do I ever have a little boy on my hands!

Luckily, Shawn found another ant for Kellen to get...this time Kellen watched it moving around for a couple of seconds before sweeping it up with his BBQ brush....poor ants.

Corn and my new Hat!

We gave Kellen corn-on-the-cob the other day and he wasn't too sure what to think of it. He watched Shawn eating his corn and would just suck on the corn...then, he finally got the hang of biting into the corn! He loved it!!!

Tanya got Kellen a new hat for his birthday....and, with the really sunny weather, he has been wearing it to protect his little head from the sun! It's still a bit big on him, but he still looks really cute in it!

It Feels Like Summertime!!

Last week, the weather was just beautiful. Everyone was outside and the park was packed with kids. We like to take Kellen to the park everyday (weather permitting) as he really is starting to enjoy playing and hanging out with the other kids. Here are some pictures from last week....they are naturally in reverse chronological order!

Kellen is now brave enough to go down the slide all by himself! Here is daddy setting him up to go down the slide to mommy!

But just before he went down the slide, a little girl started talking to him from the bottom of the stairs....he didn't mind the distraction since she was blonde (and he has a thing for blondes!).

....another distraction...a dog. Kellen loves to look at, and try to touch, any dog he sees. I love how little he looks while he is crouched down.

..and back up the stairs for another turn on the slide.

Without a doubt, Kellen's favourite thing to do at the park is to be on a swing. He could spend the whole time swinging away and watching the other kids play. Whenever you hold the swing and then let go, he gets a huge smile on his face!

Since it was soooo nice outside last week (a high of 22 degrees!) we decided it was time to try out our new shorts outfit! Kellen just loves going outside, so it was nice to get him into some of his summer clothes!

Later that day, we went to check out our new home that is being built...Kellen approves of the neighbourhood!

Easter!

We spent Easter in Brockville visiting with lots of family...then, Kellen and I stayed for a couple of days to hang out with Abuelita and Grandpa. Kellen had loads of fun playing, running around their house, going for walks, going to the park, and playing on their bed - grandparents are so much fun!

I love this picture of Kellen with Abuelita! He has really become attached to his Lita over the past month as he has had lots of chances to visit with her. He would follow her everywhere she went and always wanted her to pick him up...it was really cute. In the car coming back to Toronto, Kellen kept saying "LuLu", I think he misses his Lita!

I also love this picture of Kellen going for a walk with his Grandpa. He had so much fun looking around while Grandpa took him for a stroll!


Not only is Kellen a gifted dancer, but he is also a gifted piano player! He loved playing along to the pre-programmed songs that the piano plays. I love how little he looks!

...and after all the dancing/lunging, he needed a water break with his really cool sippy cup (it has a straw so he doesn't have to tilt it)...gotta love his stance, eh?!?!


Kellen continues to be a bit hooked on his medicine...here he is trying to cut the meds out cold turkey by biting on the dispenser.

Spaghetti Time!

So, we had spaghetti the other night for dinner and we found out that Kellen cannot get enough it! He absolutely loved it! He was picking up handfuls of spaghetti at a time and shoving it into his mouth (okay, only half ever actually ever made it into his mouth)..he ate almost a full bowl of it! It took us about 45 minutes to clean up afterward, but it was well worth it!

Here is a video of Kellen hanging out in the kitchen. He loves to walk around, bang into the stove, throw things off the shelves and attempt to open and close the microwave....he also gets very excited trying to hide behind the chair and when he gets excited - he lets you know!

Whenever I am cleaning the house, Kellen likes to have a cloth and "clean" along with me....it is super cute to watch him wiping down the walls and furniture with his little cloth. Here he is just finishing up cleaning the wall before making his way into the laundry baskets (once by accident...try to ignore my laughing!...and once because he just has to climb into the basket!).

My New Shoes!!

Okay - isn't this just the cutest picture of a baby ever!!?!?!?!?! I love how Kellen is just standing there in his big boy shoes! The first day we had his shoes, Kellen would just stand there - he would refuse to move his feet! I guess the shoes felt pretty weird on his feet! Luckily, he quickly got over it and is now walking all over the place. Here he is outside on our way to the park. It has been so nice outside this week that we have been able to head over to the park every day!

Have we mentioned how much Kellen loves medicine? Honestly, he cannot get enough of it. Here he is coming toward me with Motrin - he was very upset that he couldn't have any.

We decided it was time to get Kellen his first real pair of shoes since he is walking all over the place now and will be walking outside....so, we went to Kiddie Kobbler and got him his very first pair of shoes - with laces!!! His feet are a 4 1/2, but we bought size 5...wow, big feet!

Hey...nice shoes!

Today was Kellen's first "Making Music" class! It was lots of fun...the instructor was super nice and everyone (about 10 of us) was super friendly. Kellen was pretty shy at the beginning and held my hands for dear life as we sang lots of fun songs...but, by halfway through the class, he was walking around and showing people his real cool dance moves. At the end of the class, the instructor goes around for about 5 minutes and blows bubbles at each of the babies...Kellen (and all the other babies) LOVED it!!!
