Pumpkinville!!!

Two weeks ago, we went to Pumpkinville!!! It is an annual thing that the city of Ajax does in a huge conservation area (about 5 minutes from our house!!). It is free and it is amazing! They have so many things to do...there are about 6 huge jumping castles, wagon rides, free give aways, lots of delicious foods (which you have to pay for), a haunted house, face painting, dog shows, and much more!!!

Here is Kellen playing on the huge hay stacks!!

And trying out one of the jumping castles. He started to jump and fell flat on his face, which made his little legs fly over his head (while face first on the mat)...it really hurt his neck and back (try not to laugh too hard at this description of my son!)...needless to say, he has yet to want to go back in a jumping castle!

Big smiles while going back for more running and jumping on the hay stacks!

"May I take your order?" They also have a really nice (and large) park for the kids set up!

They have an amazing petting zoo here! Here are Shawn and Kellen petting the goats. Kellen is just like Shawn - he loves animals!
"Yikes!!! It tried to eat my hand!!!"

"That was cool! Let me try that again!!"

"Hello, Mister Horse!!" While we were looking at this giant horse, it took a huge poop....both Kellen and Caden were more amazed by the poop than by the actual horse - they couldn't stop looking at it....it must be a boy thing!

Here is Kellen hanging out on the pumpkins and taking in the day.

Enjoying some fun times with Daddy!

A great picture of the Moore family!! We took the same pictures last year while we were on the wagon rides, so we thought we would do it again this year!

And here we are!!!! Our happy little family!

We got to take the city bus to Pumpkinville this year...they offered free shuttle buses that left every 5 minutes! Kellen and Caden thought it was pretty cool to take the city bus! Here they are after a fun day at Pumpkinville!

But wait....there are more pictures from our day at Pumpkinville! Here are Shawn and Kellen sharing secrets while on the wagon ride! (Whatever Daddy said, it sure made Kellen smile!!)

Before we left, Sharlene and I thought we would get a picture of all the boys under the huge pumpkin entrance.....it was kind of hard to get them all to look at the camera!

And the two boys....Kellen and his best friend, Caden.

Daycare Trip to Whittamore Farms!

Two weeks ago, Kellen and I went on a trip with his daycare to Whittamore Farms. It is this amazing farm that does this really fun Halloween theme every year (and it's super close to home!). Here we are on the bus on our way to the farm!

The kids had to all wear the same bright yellow shirts that have the daycare's name and phone number on it (just in case one of the kids get lost)...they all look pretty cute wearing these huge shirts! Here are some kids checking out the animals in the petting zoo.

We also went on a wagon ride through the forest (which was "haunted"!!!)....Kellen thought it was pretty cool how the hey would stick to his mittens!

"BOO!!!" We are now entering the haunted forest......yikes!!

Here is Kellen trying to feed the roosters and goats.

Smile!!!

Kellen LOVES riding on a school bus! Here is his big smile!!! We had lots of fun with the other mommies and daddies as well as all of Kellen's friends from daycare!!!

..."Oooh, a snack...."

Thanksgiving Visit with Grandpa and Lita

We went to Brockville to spend Thanksgiving with my mom and dad....and luckily, the weather was beautiful, so we were able to spend most of our time outdoors!

Here are Kellen, Daddy and Grandpa having some fun time with Kellen's new slinky (thanks, Lita!!)

And, here is Kellen getting some tickles from Daddy!

Kellen and Shawn were trying to make their silliest faces for the camera...I think Shawn may have won this contest!

Kellen loves to go to www.nickjr.com and play all the games they have...like, Dora, Diego, Blue's Clues, Yo Gabba Gabba, and more!!! He introduced Lita to his favourite Dora games.....here they are playing a game together on the computer!
Woohoo!!! Kellen immediately ran to the swing set when we got to the park....we went down to St. Lawrence Park to walk around, feed the ducks, and play on their many play sets....it was so nice to just walk around - and Kellen had a blast!!

Kellen and Mommy feeding the duckies!

...and feeding the geese!

Here is Lita, really focusing on feeding the ducks!

....and here is Kellen really having fun feeding the ducks (and watching them fight over the bread!)

I love the swings!!!

Kellen LOVES to go on the swings! He will spend his entire time at the park, on the swings! Here he is checking his email on my phone while having Shawn push him on the swings!

All smiles on the swings at the new park near our house!

And now he is checking out the dog that is walking by....

Bowling!

There is a bowling alley not too far from our place....so, a couple of weeks ago, we went bowling with our friends, The Moore family! Kellen and Caden had a blast throwing the balls down the lanes (thank goodness for bumper pads!!)

Here is Kellen carrying the ball all by himself - he would put it down (right beside the gutter!) and kick it...it would take his ball a couple of minutes to actually get down the lane....quite cute!

Apple Picking, Pumpkin Picking.....oh what fun!

I had to take this picture of Kellen's new shoes....we went to buy him new shoes for the fall and his feet have grown to a size 9!!! He doesn't even fit into toddler shoes anymore...we moved up to kid shoes! He picked these out himself and he says that his new shoes make him run super fast! He tells us this everytime we put them on!

Two weeks ago, we decided to go apple picking! We found this amazing place just north of Oshawa called Archibald's. It was amazing! It had a little store of yummy foods, a play area of for the kids, an area to buy and eat food, and lots and lots of apples to pick!!!

Here is Kellen hanging out in the kiddie area and playing on the mini excavator....he was pretty good at moving that dirt around!

They also had these really cool rides that were made out of old tires! All the older kids were playing on them and Kellen really wanted to try it out too! He wasn't too sure about it once he was on it, but quickly started to enjoy it! (although, he continued to hold on for dear life!)

Archibald's has an amazing selection of apples to choose from. You drive up and they tell you which rows have the apples you are looking for....they had about 20 different types of apples - I have never seen such a hug apple orchard before! We decided on MacIntosh Apples....yummy!!!
Kellen was soooo excited to be allowed to pick apples right off of the trees....he would pick one and say "Ooooh, this is a real good one!" and after 2 or 3 apples, he would look at another tree and say "Oh my goodness! There are more over there!" It was pretty cute! The trees had so many apples that we pretty much filled our bags in 5 minutes!
Here are Kellen and Mommy having fun picking apples together!

"Look over here, Daddy! I found more apples!"

Filling up our bag of apples..

Kellen, the master apple picker! He is still small enough to easily fit underneath all the trees to get some yummy apples!

....and more apples....

When we got home, Kellen thought it would be fun to try on Shawn's shoes and walk around...he looked pretty cute trying to move around in these things!

I almost forgot....we picked out a little tiny pumpkin for Kellen before we left Archibalds....here is Kellen trying to sit on his little pumpkin while hanging out with the big pumpkin!!!
