Kellen's Tongue and Kellen Dancing

Kellen has been doing lots of weird things with this tongue. He loves to stick it out and lick things...like my arm, the table, the chair and now, the wall. Weird, I know. He also does this really weird thing where he sticks out his tongue and does the wave or the worm (remember that cool dance move??!!) with it....again, weird, I know.

Kellen really enjoys the show "Hi-5" ....he loves how they sing and dance all over the place. And, whenever they dance, Kellen goes up to the television and dances along with them! Kellen's dancing is more of a constant bopping, but he saves this special bop for music!!

Close ups

Kellen is obsessed with playing with our camera. Every single time he sees it, he grabs it and swings it around trying to make it take a picture (or show him the pictures). So, the moment I take the camera out to take his picture, he immediately comes over and grabs it. That is why the following pictures are of very close up shots of Kellen...silly little boy! The pictures are kind of funny because he has this open-eyed, stunned look as he is approaching the lens!

Making funny faces at Mommy as she takes lots of pictures! He is doing his "bdub-bduh" noise while tucking his chin into his chest (this is what he was doing in the video where his back is to us and he is bouncing away).

It's too bad there is such a shadow on this picture because I love the expression on Kellen's face. He was just standing there enjoying listening to Shawn talk to him.

Kellen Videos

After I had collected the garbage from the other rooms, Kellen decided to help me out by playing with the garbage pails.

Lately, Kellen makes this "bduh-bduh" noise while pushing his chin down into his chest and bouncing like crazy. It is really funny to hear and watch!

Kellen has discovered Toilet Paper

One of Kellen's favourite things to do continues to be opening and closing our doors. He does this about 100 times a day! Here he is about to shut me out of the room...again!

When Kellen is not busy opening and closing our door, he likes to climb up the fan and walk around it. He does this about 50 times a day!

Last night Kellen discovered that if you pull on the toilet paper, all this paper will continue to unroll all over the floor. This is why you must watch your children at all times! The little bit of toilet paper that was left over on the roll was taken care of first thing this morning....Kellen remembered how much fun it was to unroll it so it was the first thing he did...then he opened and closed the bathroom door....100 times!

It may look like Shawn is holding Kellen's head to support him (and that he's not wearing any pants...I swear, he was wearing shorts!) but Kellen is actually standing up all by himself without any support! He can stand for over a minute without any help!

Swimming and Playing with Mommy and Daddy

Here are some pictures of Kellen during his swimming lessons (sorry they turned out so dark...darn reflection off the water!). He goes every Saturday morning from 9:00-9:30am. at the community pool about 5 minutes from our place. He has been super good at playing in the water! He also just likes to float around and watch the other kids playing (there is a learn to swim class with 2-4 year olds in the pool at the same time).

Kellen continues to maintain full focus and attention while driving his car. Here he is wondering why Mommy is taking a picture of him while he's driving...I should know by now that it is a major distraction on the road!

Here is Kellen getting his car ready to take out for a spin around our place. He's making sure that the handles and horn are working properly.

...But before we set out for a drive, he had to watch "Hi-5" perform a song....he just loves that show!

Mommy and Kellen being silly together.

Kellen getting lifted into the air before a bunch of kisses from Mommy.

What a good looking kid!

Beautiful smiles.....

Curly hair and smiles

Standing up while getting ready to reach for something, anything, on the table. Check out his new outfit-new top from Auntie April and Uncle Garrett, and new jeans from Abuelita and Grandpa! Kellen had a growth spurt about 2 weeks ago and now is about 32 inches long and outgrew half of his clothing!

Finally, Kellen's top 2 teeth broke through about 3 weeks ago....he was teething for about 2 months! Here he is showing us his brand-new pearly whites! Now, he has 2 more bottom teeth that are making their way through, but I figure he has about a month or so before they actually make their appearance.
Happy Kellen practicing his walking around the table. He can do this forever...he loves to stand up and shuffle around and around the table. Luckily, he stopped long enough for me to take this picture.....

.....and then try to steal the camera away from me!

New day, same shuffling around the table.

Kellen's hair is getting much longer, and as it is growing, it is starting to curl. Check out all the curls!!! His hair is super curly after his bath!

Bundle up, it's cold outside!

This week has been super, super cold with temperatures hitting the -20's!!!! Kellen and I had to run to the grocery store the other day, so I bundled him up in his snowsuit (courtesy of cousin Parker!). Kellen didn't know what to do at first...he just lay there wondering why he was in this bundled up contraption! Finally, he realized he could still crawl around...and off he went! He looks really cute in his snowsuit...he can barely see when the hood is on!

Kellen laughing

Lately, Kellen has started to break out into full blown laughing fits whenever you tickle him. It is the cutest thing in the world! He used to giggle all the time, but now his giggle will turn into a real laugh! Here is Shawn tickling Kellen and giving him "raspberries" to make him laugh.

Who needs a shirt?!?

One of Kellen's favourite Christmas presents is a little toy "car" that we bought for him. He never smiles while he is on it, so we thought he didn't like it. However, if he is anywhere near his car, he will whine while sitting beside it until you put him on his car and push him around our place. He looks so cute and little sitting on his car! I think it is even cuter because he never cracks a smile...he is very focused on the road! He has even learned how to lift his little feet off the ground and he hits the "horn" while Shawn pushes him around!

Kellen continues to practice his standing without any help....he likes to get a good stance while standing at his crib and then lets go and just stands up all by himself! (I have yet to actually capture the standing thing yet....but when I do, I will be sure to post it!)

"Hey Mommy...you are ruining my focus!"

The other day, Kellen was in super serious mode while exploring his room. He was "walking" while holding onto his dressers and trying to reach for anything that was on the dressers. Here he is making the stretch from his change table to his dresser...you can do it, Kellen!

Another thing that Kellen has been trying to do is to stand up from a seated position. He will get up onto his knees and then try and stand up...he has yet to actually stand up though...he always just falls forward!

....he has found something new to play with...his diaper bag that I had tucked away.

Naked Time

Okay....I promise to pay for Kellen's therapy when he's older...but I just had to share these pictures of him running around naked (but yet still wearing his socks!)....he looks so cute!
He was crawling all over the place after I changed his diaper in the morning and before I could put on his new diaper or his clothing, he decided to play a bit and enjoy no restrictions! Here he is opening the window.

....Chewing the window....

...watching a car drive by....

....intrigued by the car that parked across the street....he needed to get a better look....

....and wanting to stand up on the window ledge to show everyone how fun it is to be naked!

A door, a faucet, and a bathtub...

Kellen loves to sit in our sink and play with the faucets...he finds it really funny when the water starts coming out of the faucets and gets his legs wet...weird kid! He also loves to grab our toothbrushes and bite on them...needless to say, we have added another toothbrush to the mix just for Kellen!

Another thing Kellen likes to do while sitting in the sink is to stand up and play with the mirror...ahh, lots more baby handprints for me to clean!

Kellen still loves the water...here he is playing in the bathtub in his new "big boy" ring. He was too big for his other bath seat so he needed to move into something that would allow him to sit all by himself (yet prevent him from trying to stand up!).

Kellen absolutely loves to open and close every single door he finds. He will rush over to a door, and close it on you...then he opens it to see if you're still there...he could do this all day long!
