Happy 60th Birthday, Lita!

Last weekend, we surprised Lita with 60th birthday party in Ottawa! Shawn, Kellen and I stayed with Grandpa and Lita in Brockville and then headed to Ottawa on Saturday. It was so nice to have so much of the family together (including all the cousins!) to celebrate Lita's birthday.....I think she really appreciated the surprise!

Here are Grandpa, Ali, Daryl, Ella and Nathalie hanging out.
Auntie April, Uncle Garrett, and baby Lauren.
I think Mackensie was loving every moment of holding and feeding Lauren....who wouldn't?!?!
Grandpa, Great Grandpa and Great Nana enjoying the beautiful weather, food and company.
There was an amazing splash pad right across the street from Nathalie's house....Parker and Kellen had a blast playing in the water (it was super hot outside!)

Here they are playing "choo-choo" as they pretended to be a train together.
Playing in the park that was beside the splash pad.
It was so nice to have Great Grandpa and Great Nana there - here we are enjoying a nice moment together.
I love this picture. Here are Kellen and Great Grandpa in the middle of a little conversation.
"Cheese!"
"Happy birthday to Lita!"
Here are the two delicious birthday cakes that Auntie April brought for Lita....yummy!
Here is Kellen helping Lita open her birthday presents.
Kellen loved the little sour keys that Nathalie had....here he is feeding one to Grandpa.
And here is Parker checking to see if the icing was good....he said it was!
Cousins.
It was cute to watch Parker and Kellen wondering around and playing together....here they are checking out what was happening in the kitchen.
A quiet moment between Lita and Lauren.
And a silly moment between cousins.
Great Grandpa was enjoying some time playing with Lauren.

I think Great Grandpa and Great Nana loved having some time with Lauren...again, who wouldn't ??!?!
The only downfall to our trip was that Kellen was not feeling well on our way home. He slept the entire way back to Brockville and then didn't feel well after I woke him up.....here he is relaxing in Grandpa and Lita's bed having some juice and a banana....and watching Toy Story. I think that their bed is his new favourite place to hang out in their house!

Fun at Mallorytown Landing

This past weekend, we went to Brockville (on route to Ottawa for a birthday surprise for Lita!). On Friday, Lita took us all to Mallorytown Landing (a natural beach near Brockville). Shawn and Kellen loved it! Naturally, Kellen wanted to play in the water for the majority of the time - so here are Shawn and Kellen playing in the water.
Testing the waters...
And let the splashing begin!
Kellen had this little routine of splashing in the water, racing Shawn to where Lita and I were sitting, drinking from his smoothie, then asking Shawn to run with him back to the water.....he did this about 20 times!
Chugging the smoothie.
Stopping for a delicious picnic lunch....it was so yummy!
Kellen agrees!
Here is Kellen enjoying his cheese sandwich and fruit.
Then, we headed for a walk and hung out on the rocks near the surface of the water.
Enjoying some quiet time with his Lita.
Kellen and Lita....boy, does he love his Lita!
Hello, Shawn!
On a stroll through the grounds with Lita.

I love this picture! Lita was about to put Kellen's shirt back on, when he decided to play "catch me if you can" around this tree.....it was pretty funny to watch them run around the tree together!
Stopping for another snack.
"Cheese"????
Kellen was pretty impressed with this huge stick that he found.
.....so, he decided to chase Shawn with the stick.
A little reminder of who was playing in the sand.
More water time - this time he brought Lita down to the water for some splash time!

And then before we left, Kellen played in the huge tree house......it was lots of fun!
Thanks, Lita for a great day together!

Kellen the Gymnast

Kellen has always loved to jump around and do these weird "break dancing" moves...but lately, he has added somersaults (or attempts at somersaults) to his dance routine.

Here he is getting ready to get down to business after busting some jumping moves and spins.
Here we go.....
And we have a somersault!
Stunned and by all the somersaults.
Beautiful boy.
