Kellen in Video

After it rains, Kellen loves to go outside to run and jump in the puddles...here he is (about a month ago) having fun in the puddle...now when he does it, he will stomp his foot to see how big a splash he can make....ahh, boys!

Kellen absolutely LOVES the toy store near our place (Mastermind Toys). The moment we drive down Yonge Street, or take a walk down the street, he will start to grunt and point to the store. We visit a couple of times a week now! One of the toys he loves to play on is the toddler trampoline...I have to admit, it does look like alot of fun!

Here is a video of Kellen pushing Vivian around in his little car....he really enjoys pushing the care around instead of actually being in the car. I love how Vivian is so still!

Curly Top

This is a picture that Kellen took of himself the other day while lying on our bed. I thought it actually turned out quite well!

We just got Kellen's hair cut because it was growing wild. However, before we got it cut, Kellen was sporting some serious curls! Check out the curls (and a picture of Kellen and mommy...the person who gave him all of his curls! Although, my curls look like a giant ball of frizz in this picture!)

I have no idea why Kellen loves to make this face whenever he is trying to tell you that he is not overly happy with a certain situation. He puckers his lips together and breaths in and out very quickly while whining....weird, but utterly adorable at the same time....not the reaction he wanted.

The other day, we finally had nice enough weather that we had to go outside and enjoy ourselves before the next wave of smog settled into Toronto! We had such a nice and lazy afternoon just hanging outside watching people walk around with their kids or their dogs. Kellen enjoyed a nice snack of juice and strawberries while sitting in a patio chair (and sporting his summer hat!)....and of course, he absolutely loved it when Shawn came home and started throwing him up in the air!!! Yeah, Daddy!!!! Check out Kellen's smile!

Being mellow....part 2.

After his strawberries, Kellen had enough energy to get up from his chair to stand and watch people walk by. I love how cute he looks in his summer hat! (and his baby cheeks!)

Time with Abuelita

Since Kellen won't actually use his potty for it's actual purposes......he uses it as a foot stool (it actually does have this function!) to stand at the sink and wash his hands. He loves to wash his hands (he does it about 10 times a day!)
Last week, we were super lucky to have Abuelita visit us...Kellen just loved having his Abuelita around to play with him and take care of him...and help him wash his hands!!


And here is Kellen trying to wash his hands all by himself...he looks so cute on his stool!

Kellen and Abuelita were playing a little game of airplane after washing his hands....too bad the camera threw him off and he became super serious! I promise, he was having a blast!

This is Kellen's "I'm not impressed" face...he gets this face (or will just start to cry) if you try to take his picture and not let him play with the camera.

Kellen continues to love opening and closing his musical cards that Abuelita and Grandpa gave to him on Valentine's Day and for his birthday....he also loved getting lots of cuddles and lovings from Abuelita and hopes she will come back soon for another visit!

Happy Father's Day!!!

Kellen helped daddy celebrate Father's Day this weekend. He gave Shawn a super nice card along with some of Shawn's favourite chocolate snacks! (He's really hoping Shawn shares some of them with him!). We also had lots of fun hanging out at a local park that has a really great water park....Kellen got pretty wet, but it was great because it was so hot outside! Here is Kellen being carried into the house by Shawn because his shoes were too wet to walk in!

Kellen loved how the water would spray out from the side and the top of these huge poles that have fish on them! Here he is getting sprayed by the water and being a little surprised by it! About 2 seconds later, he was running right up to the water hose!



"Ahha! So, this is where all that water was coming from.....Daddy, make it spray me again!"



Well, playing in water is very, very tiring. Kellen napped for almost 4 hours...we opened his door, his windows and kept rubbing his legs to wake him up, but there was no way he was waking up! Ahhh, aren't sleeping babies so peaceful?

...and bedtime....what happened to my sleeping, peaceful baby!?!?!?

My New PJ's and Shoes

Kellen just went through another growth spurt and suddenly he did not fit into his PJ's anymore! So, we went and picked up some new PJ's for the summer. Here he is sporting his new short-sleeve PJ's as well as his sunglasses....he likes to accessorize first thing in the morning!

He may seem graceful while running around with his sunglasses on, but he gets a little frustrated trying to get them off...watch the ears!

Eating a peeled apple. For the past week, Kellen has been getting picky about his food. Not necessarily what he's eating, but how it is presented to him...he no longer likes his food cut up for him into little pieces (unless he's tired!). He now prefers to just grab the entire thing and take big bites out of it...or shove the entire thing into his mouth...meals are lots of fun!

Running around the table while breaking in his new sandels. Again, with his recent growth spurt, he needed new shoes for the summer - he loves these shoes - especially the velcro!

This morning we went for a hike in Pickering. Kellen loves to pick up every single rock and stick he finds on the path...it's really cute! He will then use his stick to scratch at the dirt (I think he's trying to draw a picture!?!?!). Here is Kellen squatting down to pick up another stick .... I love how he can just hold this position for the longest time...my legs hurt just watching him!

Here are two videos of Kellen running around the front lawn and playing peek-a-boo behind the "For Rent" sign. He loves to run up and down the "hill" of the front lawn!

The next two videos are of Kellen playing with Shawn....he loves it when Shawn hides behind a blanket (or puts the blanket over Kellen)....basically, it's Shawn and Kellen being silly!

Chasing Dogs

Kellen LOVES dogs! We discovered this amazing new conservation park really close to our place and Kellen went crazy chasing all the dogs that were going for a walk! Here he is running toward a dog (he loves to run with his arms stretched out in front of him toward you...he knows it is super cute!)....he proceded to fall down and tumble down the hill about 2 seconds after I took this picture!

But wait - the dog is going in the other direction! Kellen quickly got up and ran (he ran so fast, his little legs are blurry in the picture!) after the dog!


"OMG! Another dog!!! Wait, doggy, I want to play!"


Unfortunately, he was too excited chasing the dogs that he took a big tumble (no worries, he was fine!)....good thing daddy was there to give him some lovings and clean off all the dirt and leaves from his belly!

He quickly recovered and the moment Shawn put him down, he saw another dog! He was super excited and was off chasing yet another dog!

"Nice doggy" It's really funny because Kellen loves to look at and run after dogs, but the moment he is allowed to touch a dog, or a dog comes up to him, he completely freezes! Here is Shawn petting a nice dog we met on our walk and Kellen completely frozen!

"Watch out daddy, they smell fear!"

After all that running around, Kellen decided to relax and pick at the rocks and sticks on the ground.

These pictures are naturally in reverse chronological order....so, here is Kellen putting on his shoes before our walk in the park (okay, more like examining his shoes and waiting for me to put them on him!)

After his nap, Kellen shared a fruit cup with daddy! Check out the curls in his hair! His hair is getting long again, and with the heat, his hair has been getting super curly again! I love his curls!

Trying to drink his milk. I have been trying (without any success) to switch Kellen over to milk...we have been trying for 3 weeks now and every single time I give him his sippy cup with milk, he will sip the milk, and spit it out all over himself......not fun.

"Hmmmm - I wonder why mommy is forcing me to drink this yucky stuff?!"
