Bathtime and Playtime!

Kellen loves to stand on your lap and look at things on the computer. He especially loves looking at pictures! Here are Kellen and Shawn looking at pictures of animals....Kellen is quick to point out his favourites to Shawn!

We recently bought Kellen a new toy...a mini shopping cart! Whenever we are somewhere that has this, he won't leave it alone...so, we thought we would finally get him his very own cart! (and it was on sale!). He will run all over the house while pushing his little cart around (while carrying some of his toys)....very cute!

We have been trying to clean up our basement so that Kellen can have a fun place to play...since our basement isn't finished, we decided to put those foam tiles down so that Kellen would have a soft and not-so-cold floor to play on...and, the primary colours look nice for a children's area! Kellen has lots of toys in his new playroom...his little house, a couple of seats, his bike and other riding toys, his toy box with loads of things in it, and his drawing board! What a lucky kid! Here he is wrestling with Shawn!

Kellen always wants to do exactly what Shawn does...so, whenever Shawn is doing something with his tools, Kellen is literally, right beside him wanting to help (too cute!). So, we bought him his very own tools (they make really cool noises!)....here he is working his magic!

Kellen has this little "house" that has lots of balls in it -he loves to hide in the house and play peek-a-boo!

Our hand towels are the perfect size to fit around Kellen after his bath! He looks like a grown man wrapped in a towel...just the miniature version!!!

What's New with Kellen

The past month has been full of lots of changes and milestones for Kellen. So, I thought I would share some with you!
1) Kellen started daycare (boo!)...he has been super, super good with daycare...he has never cried, he eats and drinks well (even milk!), and sleeps longer than any of the other children there! However, he has been super sick since starting daycare (boo!)...he has had 2 major colds, and 3 double ear infections!!! Needless to say, we have not slept very much (or worked very much!) since Kellen has started daycare!
2) He is talking up a storm! It seems like every single day, he says a couple new words. Some words he likes to say are: Mama, Dadda, Babba (that's him), up, down, no, no-no, oh-oh, mmmmm-mmmm, all done, car, bike, ball, bath, boat, keys, juice, cookie, stick, chip, cat, dog, moo (cow), baaa (sheep), pig, door, open, bum-bum, apple, night-night, kiss, phone, light, fan, mail, yum, plane, park... and lots more, that I can't think of! (not that all these words sound exactly as they should!)
3) He is super funny now that he is talking! The moment we put him down for dinner, he will eat 3 pieces of food, then put his hands up in the air and say "up" and "all done".
4) If he doesn't want something (ie: his current antibiotics) he will cover his face with his hands so you can't see him (ie: he isn't there anymore)...ahhh, too cute!
5) He loves to jump up in the air (both feet off the ground!), throw a ball, run super fast, dance with some crazy dance moves (think of a very fast running man!), run in circles, and walk backwards.
6) He loves to give Hi-Five and kisses...ahhhhh.

Watching Planes Fly By with Caden

Kellen and Caden continue to love spending time together, especially at the park. Here is Caden sharing his snack with Kellen.

And here they are, both completely fascinated with a plane flying in the sky. Their facial reactions when they are doing something together is soooo funny!

Fun in the Fall...

Here is Kellen at the park showing off his new fall clothing. None of his clothing from last year fit him, so we had to go shopping for a whole new wardrobe! Here he is in his new, way cool, fall jacket, new jogging pants, and new shoes (which are a size 8!!...Kellen's feet have grown so much lately...he has gone from a size 5 to a size 8 in 6 months!)

Kellen also loves to run really fast, and go down the slide as fast as he can...here he is about to fly down the slide!

Kellen loves to ask for your keys and use them to "open" anything that looks like a keyhole, a hole, a button...basically, he uses the keys on everything he can find!

Eating, Sweeping, and Visits from Lita and Grandpa

Kellen has this new thing where he loves to go and sit in the car and just hang out. He will turn the lights inside the car on, press the button to open the garage door, etc. Here is Kellen hanging out with Lita in the car.....I think Lita was very excited that Kellen could open the garage door all by himself!

Kellen absolutely loves ice cream and chocolate (I wonder who he got this from!?!?)..we bought him these mini chef's ice cream bars and he totally loves them! Here he is inhaling his treat!

I have trained Kellen well...he loves to grab the broom and sweep the floors for us! Here he is sweeping after noticing some crumbs on the kitchen floor.

Kellen and Caden

Kellen and Caden continue to be best buds....it is so funny each night at the park...the moment they see one another, it's a contest to see who can run faster (or scream louder) toward the other! Here they are playing at Caden's house last week while the parents enjoyed some Dairy Queen...yummy!! We now know that Kellen loves (LOVES) chocolate dipped cones....he insists on holding it and eating it just like a big boy!

"Watch this daddy....no hands!" Kellen has no fear when it comes to the slide. He holds onto the top bar over the slide and then swings himself in the air, and lands on his bum on the slide (and then goes down the slide)...crazy kid!


Running toward his new friend, Caden. They have almost daily playdates at the park after dinnertime...Kellen gets super excited when he sees them approaching the park!


Kellen also loves to go over to this house and look at the rocks around the tree (and the fire hydrant).

"Can you find me??"

Fall Jackets and Sweater

Kellen is obsessed with playing "Where's Kellen?". He will run and "hide" in the same 3-4 spots in the house and wait until you find him. Once you do find him, he says "again" and wants to you go and find him (in the same spot) about 10 more times! It is so cute. Here he is hiding on Shawn in the cupboard.

Kellen loves to imitate everything that Shawn does. So, when Shawn is cutting the grass, Kellen is quick to get out his little lawn mower and help out!

Kellen loves to run back and forth between our house and our neighbours....here he is...off again!

Okay..this picture is a bit on the blurry side, but we wanted to show you the sweater that Kellen wears every morning to daycare. Since its cool in the mornings, he wears his little sweater until they come in for lunch...he looks so cute in his sweater!
