Both Kids at 6 Months

Here are pictures of both Sarah, and Kellen, at 6 months.  Do you see any similarities?  Shawn and I really don't see a resemblance between the two kids.  However, they are the same size - Sarah is 28.5 inches long (now she is half an inch longer than Kellen was at this age!  She was 1 inch shorter than Kellen at birth!).  She is 20 pounds, 9 ounces - just like Kellen!

I also thought that Sarah was hitting her milestones earlier than Kellen did - but, after looking through the blog, I see that Kellen was practicing his crawling position at 7 months (and was already pulling himself into a sitting and standing position all by himself!)

They Just Love Each Other!

Here are some pictures of Kellen and Sarah hanging out last weekend.  They just adore each other so much - it melts my heart!  Sarah spends her day being completely amused by Kellen; and Kellen spends his day being the best big brother ever!  He tries to teach her things (like sitting, grabbing things, and now - crawling!), he makes sure that she is always safe, and he even speaks "baby language" to her!

 The best kids ever!
I love these pictures - how they look at one another.

I love the expression on Kellen's face!
...and here!  Sarah was making silly noises, and squirming around  - I guess Kellen found it shocking:)

Just a Cutie

Sarah was still a bit cold after our morning walk - so I kept her sweater and hoodie on while I got her snack ready.  She is just so cute!  That's all!

Mommy and her Favourite Boy

Here are some pictures of Mommy and Kellen together - I was lying down, and Kellen came over and said, "Mommy, I love you" - then came to give me some cuddles.  What a great kid!  I just love him!

Kellen and his Friends

Since finishing daycare, Kellen really misses his friends.  So, we have been setting up playdates with his friends (and their parents) to keep them all together.  Last weekend, we went to the Spaceship Park with Aurelia and John.  Here they are after having loads of fun together!

It is Starting to Get Cold Outside

Each morning, on our walk to school, we are needing to bundle up a bit - it is getting cold out there!  Sarah looks so cute in her hat and fleece jacket....before we know it, we will have to wear our winter jackets!

Morning Play

Since Sarah likes to wake the entire house by 7am, we have lots of time to play together before we head off to school.  Sarah loves to play (and touch) every single thing she can see.  She is so curious!  Here she is playing with her favourite spotted giraffe (she sleeps with it every night).

And, here she is super interested in what Kellen is playing with - she keeps trying to touch anything that he has!
Kellen showing me his toys while he rolls on the floor.
Kellen put a hat on Sarah while she played on the floor - doesn't she look cute?!?!
Some fuzz from a stuffed animal got on Sarah's face - so, Kellen was being a super good big brother and was cleaning off her face.
 Hello, kiddies!

Visiting Kellen's Classroom!

Last week, we were allowed to visit Kellen's new school.  Kellen was so excited and proud to show us his classroom.  Here he is showing me a picture that his teacher took of him.  It is of Kellen standing beside a board that says, 'When I grow up, I want to be a _____________" and Kellen said he wanted to be a fireman!  This also where Kellen sits.  He was pretty proud to show off his work.

                                                            Showing us his classroom.

 Smile!

Kellen Starts JK!

Well, it is hard to believe that my baby boy has finally started JK!  I couldn't sleep at all the night before (especially knowing that there was going to be so much rain!) - how could he possibly be old enough to be going to school!?!  Well, he was so brave - here he is out in the pouring rain (the yellow tag was his name tag with his teacher's name and his room number on it - all the kids were given this before school started).

Mommy and her baby boy.  I am so proud of him.
Daddy and Kellen - Daddy was more emotional than I was on Kellen's first day!  It was so hard to say goodbye as he went through the gates of his school all by himself!
Sarah wanted in on all of the hugs too!
 The three musketeers!
I love this picture!  Check out the look on Kellen's face while Sarah decided to nose dive into the floor!
We're good!  We figured we would just leave Sarah to look at Kellen's pants!
The next morning, was the first time we had a chance to walk to school since the weather finally cleared up. Here we are about to start our walk to school.....what happy babies I have!

Last Day of Daycare

Well, as you know, Kellen started JK last week (pictures will be posted soon!).  So, two weeks ago, he had his last day of daycare.  He has been there for the past three years, so it was pretty emotional (for mommy and daddy too!).  Kellen brought presents for his teachers, and lots of yummy snacks for the goodbye party they had for him.  My baby boy - he is getting so big, and we are so proud of him.

Here are some pictures from when Kellen started daycare (he was 16 months old).  Here he was going to the park a month after starting daycare.

Deep in thought...he was so little.
Happy at the park - this was a few weeks before daycare started.
And, here was my baby on his first day of daycare.  He was so little and precious.  He just melted my heart and it was so hard to drop him off.....funny how quickly time goes by, and now we found it hard to take him out of daycare.

Happy Together

Now that Sarah is starting to get a bit bigger, she really enjoys spending time "playing" with Kellen.  If they are playing on the floor, she will roll over to him (and will actually try to roll on to his back!).  When I took this picture, Kellen was sitting on the floor while I read him a story.  Sarah kept rolling and pushing herself over to Kellen - we basically just had to pull her up a bit so that she could sit with her big brother....it was pretty cute to watch how much she wanted to be with Kellen!

And Kellen adores (absolutely adores) his baby sister!
Brother and sister - so happy together!

Sarah hanging out

In the past month, Sarah has changed so much.  She now sits all by herself; rolls from her back to her belly, and from her belly to her back; laughs at things now; tries to "play" with us (especially with Kellen!)....she is just so much fun!  Here she is playing in her room with some of her favourite toys.
 Happy after her breakfast.
Hanging out on her playmat downstairs - she never has her Sophie giraffe far from her grasp.
Concentrating super hard on her toy.
 "Hello!"
Something that hasn't changed, is that Sarah drools like crazy - all the time!  So, after she soaked her shirt, I took it off - and she continued to play....showing off her cute tummy!
