Visiting with Abuelito

This past weekend, we went to Brockville to visit with Lita and Abuelito. Abuelito has been here for the past 6 weeks, and he flew back to Honduras on Monday. It was such a nice visit - lots of family came by on Saturday to hang out with Abuelito before he left, and to celebrate Uncle Garrett and Shawn's birthdays (which were on Friday). It is always so nice to see Abuelito, and we already can't wait for his next visit! It was also nice to visit Brockville and Lita - we hadn't been to Brockville since Christmas, which was such a difficult time. It was nice to share some laughs and memories together.

My Little Baker!

Last week, Kellen and I baked cookies together. He loves to bake with me! When I asked him if he wanted to bake cookies with me, he immediately went and put on his baking apron (thanks, Lita!) and went upstairs to get his stool.

Kellen likes Calamari!

Last week, we had car appointments and doctor appointments going on - so, while waiting for Shawn's car, we went to Kelsey's for dinner. Shawn loves calamari - so he got some as an appetizer. Kellen decided to try a piece of it, and loved it! He ate about 1/4 of all the calamari! However, he only liked the little pieces - he tried a larger piece, and only ate the batter - he said it was too plastic-y.

After dinner, Kellen and Shawn raced up and down the walkway.

Aurelia's Birthday Party

This past weekend as Aurelia's birthday party (Aurelia is one of Kellen's friends from daycare). Kellen had been so sick all week, that it was nice for him to see his friends again at the birthday party - turns out three other kids were away all week as well! The birthday party was at a fun little play place called Creative Play. Here is Kellen giving lots of smiles while climbing the mini monkey bars....his friend, John, is in the background riding a bike.

Making Eggs

Kellen loves to help out in the kitchen. The other night, we decided to make breakfast for dinner. We made toast, sausages, and scrambled eggs. Kellen asked to help me make dinner -so, here he is making the scambled eggs! He was so proud to be helping me cook!

Cleaning off the Car

We have had great weather this winter, so I don't want to complain. But, last week, we had some snow (the 2nd time this winter) and Kellen was super excited! He loves to play out in the snow! He also loves to help clean off the car whenever it is covered in snow. Here he is helping Shawn clear the snow off the car....he's actually pretty good at it!

BTW: Is it me, or does it look like Kellen has grown....again!!

Sick Days at Home

Kellen was home all week last week with the flu, croup...and then, a pretty bad ear infection. His ear infection was bad enough that the doctor couldn't even tell if his tube was still in his right ear because the swelling and infection was so bad....poor kid. However, Kellen was a trooper throughout the week. Here he is resting with Mommy on the couch. He was so tired - he would sleep 13-14 hours at night, then have a 2-3 hour nap each day. It was nice to just relax together - too bad it was when he wasn't feeling well.
