Fun around the house

Here is Kellen saying, "Follow me....let's go hide!!!" He is sticking his head forward and it makes him look really skinny....I prefer the big cheeks look!

....Yeah!!! We found Kellen! Our closet is his new favourite place to hide on us!!!

Lately, Kellen is a big all over the place with his emotions....he gets very frustrated when you don't know what he is telling you (we are REALLY trying to speak and understand baby, but obviously, we are not picking it up fast enough for his liking!)...he will continuously repeat the same baby talk to you with a serious face and get louder each time he repeats himself...then, the total frustration pours over and he screams, whines, cries, etc....hence, this picture!

"What...I swear, it wasn't me!" I love how he totally looks stunned in this picture! A car drove by that was making very loud noises and he turned around to look at it, and had this look...so, I had to take a picture!

Hanging out reading his books....lately, Kellen has been really, really into looking at his books and wanting you to read to him. He has always loved his books and listening to stories, but now, he could ask you to read to him all the time (the same story about 10 times in a row).

Outside Fun

Shawn bought Kellen sidewalk chalk and Kellen has been testing it out...he doesn't really understand what to do with it yet, but he loves to see the colours that he leaves behind when he scrapes it on the driveway!

Okay...this is a funny story...Kellen loves to pick up rocks and then walk over to the drain on the street and drop them in to hear the noise they make when they hit the water....anyways, he found this really big rock and picked it up and started walking with it...well, about 5 seconds after I took this picture, the rock won - Kellen flew forward and did a little flip over himself down the road!

At the park (carrying an energy snack of raisins!) and watching the older children playing a game of tag. Kellen loves other kids and always runs toward them wanting to play....it is really cute to watch!

Anyone who knows Kellen knows that he loves to climb anything and everything in sight. We moved the chairs to do some vaccuuming and within about 10 seconds, Kellen had managed to climb the chair and stand up! You can see Shawn's hand in the bottom corner begging Kellen not to jump!

This is what happens when you leave you wallet out in plain sight of Kellen.

All you have to do is say, "Kellen, do you want to go to the park?" and he runs to grab his shoes and gets this huge smile on his face!

A baby was crying while we were at the park, and Kellen just stood there with a very serious face on just watching the baby...then he would point at the baby and grunt!

Shawn has taught Kellen how to stick out his tongue and it is now his favourite thing to do (thanks Shawn!)

We went for a walk in the conservation area in Pickering this morning - here is Kellen taking a break to have a sip from his sippy cup.

Kellen is getting really good at running up and down hills now...here he is running toward Shawn in a field.

Kellen loves to pick up flowers and blow the pollen/flowers off (well, he actually ends up with most of it in his mouth, but he's trying!)

We were outside playing this afternoon, and Miles took some amazing pictures of Vivian and Kellen! After always just watching Kellen drive his car around, Vivian decided she wanted in on the action and jumped in! She was so cute sitting there and holding onto the steering wheel...Kellen was quick to be by her side to make sure she knew what she was doing! (they are best buds after all!)

And a kiss for good luck!! Ahhhhhhh......

And Kellen hanging out with mommy....he then proceeded to smother me with kisses/bites...we need to work on that!

Kellen absolutely LOVES Vivian! Literally, every single time we go near the front door, he insists on going downstairs to their place and he will now knock on the door for them...and if they are not home, he cries outside their door! Here he is playing with Vivian on their way outside for some fun in the sun...he is getting really good at being gentle with her, and will actually try to give her hugs!

Kellen strongly feels that no one should be allowed to take pictures...except for him! He always wants to hold the camera the moment we take it out...here he is insisting that I hand over the camera.

While packing, we found our old camera and gave it to Kellen to play with...here he is checking it out (it has some pictures of us on the camera's memory and whenever he looks at the pictures, he smiles when it is a picture of either Shawn or myself...he'll say "mama" or "dadda"....ahhhh..

Happy 2nd Birthday, Parker!!!

Last weekend we went to Kingston to celebrate Parker's 2nd birthday!!! I cannot believe my little Parker Bear is already 2! We had lots of fun hanging out with Parker and other friends and family. Here is Kellen acting shy and coy with a balloon (who knows why!) and Parker just staring at the whole situation.

Ooohh, presents! Parker is great at ripping the wrapping paper off of the presents! He seemed to like looking at the front of the cards and then tossing them aside to get to the presents....very cute!

April and Garrett got Parker a Thomas the Train cake....you should have seen the smile on Parker's face when he realized it was Thomas! Here he is mesmorized by his cake and trying to blow out his candles.
