Daddy Time

Now that we finally have our fence finished (yeah!), Kellen likes to play in the backyard with Shawn. Here they are playing a little game of soccer.
Showing Daddy how to play soccer with super cool moves.
Onto a completely different event - going for a haircut (Kellen gets his haircut about every 2 months - his hair grows quickly!).
And....another completely different topic - hanging out with Daddy and playing a game on the IPod.
....and since Kellen is the best one at all the games - here he is showing Daddy how to play the game.

Halloween and Soccer - Together!

I realize that this happened over a month ago - but it was so cute, I thought I would still share it! The weekend of Halloween, Kellen's soccer practice allowed the kids to wear their costumes. There were 3 little guys all dressed like Buzz Lightyear! I thought it was pretty cute, so I thought I would take a picture of them all together!
Kellen lying down waiting for Coach Steve to blow the whistle and tell them when to jump up from the lying down position and run the relay.
Showing off some great soccer skills.
....and working up a thirst while running around.
Doing a great statue pose during a game of freeze-tag!

Big Brother-To-Be

I know that it has been a crazy amount of time since my last blog entry - I have been super busy with school work, doctor's appointments, Kellen having a couple bad colds and ear infections.

Well, as you all know by now - Kellen is going to be a big brother in March! We are expecting baby number 2 on March 7 (yes, only 6 days after Kellen's birthday!)....and we have been told that it is a baby girl (but not with 100% certainty, as the baby was not fully cooperative during the ultrasound!).

Kellen is starting to notice that things are changing - including my growing belly. We have been talking about a new baby coming, and he knows that there is a baby in mommy's belly. He seems pretty indifferent about the whole becoming a big brother, and asks us lots of questions.

He has told me that the when the baby is kicking that the baby wants to come out now and play with his toys. He has asked us if the baby will take his room away from him; if the baby will take away all of his toys; if the baby knows that he is my favourite (broke my heart); and if mommy will love him too (again, broke my heart).

It will surely be one big adjustment on all of us - but if baby #2 is anywhere to as cute and lovable as Kellen - it will all be worth it!

Happy Halloween!

Kellen was so excited for Halloween this year! He stayed up pretty late the night before - he kept getting up to ask if it was time to put on his costume yet (too cute!). This year, Kellen picked out his own costume and he decided that he wanted to be Buzz Lightyear (from Toy Story).
Eagerly waiting to head out trick-or-treating!
Showing off his pumpkin bucket with Daddy.
Hanging out with Mommy.
We decided to start with our own house. Kellen rang the doorbell and practice saying "trick-or-treat!" for me.
Our pumpkins....they looked better in the dark.
Checking out all the trick-or-treaters on the street....this year, there were so many kids out and it was great to see.
Completely awestruck by the person dressed as a vampire (when I told Kellen to say "trick or treat", he just stood there and barely shook his head "no" - it was pretty cute).
He looks so small walking with Daddy.

Family picture!
Walking, with Mommy, to another house.
Kellen and Caden (yes, they were in the same costume - and no, it was not planned!) were pretty good at going up the stairs to ring the doorbell all by themselves....when did they get so big!!?!?
Checking out his goodies.
.....and loving this whole getting free candies while dressed up in a cool costume!
He looked so small standing at a door while waiting for someone to answer it.
The two Buzz Lightyears.

At the end of the night, Kellen said he was tired of walking. Then, he just decided to lie down on the grass - what a kid!
And he is done!

Sweet Dreams

This week, I stayed home with Kellen - he has been fighting a really bad cold and pink eye. I have been sick with a sore throat, fever, etc as well. After lunch, we put on a movie and I fell asleep. I woke up to Kellen snoring! Here he is fast asleep.....so adorable!

Our Annual Trip to Whittamore Farm for Pumpkins

Last weekend, we went with Shawn's family to Whittamore Farms. We go every year around this time to enjoy the Halloween activities and to pick out our pumpkins. Luckily, we had beautiful weather for our day at the farm.

Here are Kellen and Mommy about to enter the farm.

All smiles in the pumpkin patch! He wanted to take home every second pumpkin that he saw!
His head was cold, so he put his hat back on.
The first thing that Kellen wanted to do was go in the jumping castle. Here he is in line waiting for his turn - and while he was waiting, he decided to climb the little fence.
This child has no fear.

Yippee!!! It is finally our turn!

Next, Kellen wanted to climb up to the top of the hay stacks.....he was too little to get up each level - luckily, a nice woman helped him up for me.
"I did it!" Once he was at the top, he was a little nervous.
The farm has "horse" rides that are made out of old tires. Kellen named his "horsey"
Kellen loved climbing through the huge tires....
....but, got stuck trying to get through the smaller ones!
He had a blast playing on this huge play structure.
....and he had more courage climbing the hay stacks with Daddy.
Getting some help from Daddy at walking across the tires.

Kellen and Cameron had fun walking across the tires - they thought it was a plank (like on a pirate ship).
Cute little cousins.
Daddy and Alyjah - they are almost the same height!
Boo!!! We went for a tractor ride through a haunted forest! It had ghosts and goblins hanging from the trees....and people dressed up as werewolves that ran out - scary!!
Having fun in the mini tractor pit.
Cameron needed a bit of help from his big brother.
Kellen was excited to pick out his baby pumpkin.
....he was so excited that he chose all of these baby pumpkins! Here he is trying to decide which one would be coming home with us.
Family shot on the tractor ride.
Cameron and Alyjah on the tractor ride.
Big smiles with Daddy - Kellen really liked going on the tractor.
The farm has this giant slide - you have to climb up a good sized hill to get to the top.....naturally, Kellen wanted to go down the slide all day - again, no fear!

....Now, time to choose our big pumpkin.
Daddy and Kellen.
Mommy and Kellen.
Cameron wondering why he keeps being put in a pumpkin patch for so many pictures.
Kellen wanted to get in the conversation that Daddy was having with Alyjah - Kellen looks so small compare to them!
