President's Choice Cooking School!!

Today was our first cooking class offered at Loblaws. Kellen has been excited all week for it! When we arrived, Kellen was allowed to put on a little apron and grab a chef hat to decorate. He was a little quiet at first, and just kinda watched as the other kids came in (there was only 5 kids, which was great!). Then, he quickly got into the whole thing.
Distracted by a child in the class while drawing on his chef hat.
Mommy and her little chef (giving his "I am in pain/happy/gassy/who knows what is happening with him - face!)
Mashing up the bananas for our delicious banana muffins that we made before we made our funny faces cakes! When we started mashing up the bananas, Kellen said "I do this with Lita!" He was so excited to be doing something that he had done with his Lita!
And being a super good helper to our teacher....Kellen measured out all the dry ingredients for the class (all by himself!) and poured them into the "dry ingredients" bowl.
And then he got to carry the bowl (again, all by himself...which made him so proud) to the table so that all the other boys and girls could help out!
Here he is showing the class how we stir the dry ingredients together.
Pouring the wet ingredients into his bowl to stir, stir, stir! (Or, as Kellen likes to say "bate, bate, bate ... picture the accent over the "e"!)
Just a little more...
Stirring the dry ingredients in with the wet ingredients. The bowls went around the table and each child got to pour two little cups of dry ingredients into the wet bowl and stir it all together.
Hanging out with Daddy.
Chef Kellen!!!
Carefully spreading his icing around his cake. He was so proud.
Mommy may have helped out a bit, by adding some super cool green hair...and helped centre the eyes, nose and mouth! What can I say, I need to just make things look nice!!!

And now to decorate his cake's face!!! He put lots of sprinkles around the mouth so that his cake could have a beard and mustache-just like Daddy!
"See....I have a beard too!"
Voila!! The final product of the "Funny Faces" cooking class! It was lots of fun - and Kellen really enjoyed himself. When we were leaving, he said "I am having such a fun day today, Momma!" Ahh, I love fun family time!
Then, Caden and Kellen got distracted by all the cars in the parking lot.
Gotta love the pose, eh!?!?

Kellen, what a beautiful cake you made! I bet it tasted delicious! You look so cute in your little apron - just like a professional chef!
