Kellen is a Little Kicker!!!

Today, Kellen officially became a Little Kicker! He had has very first soccer practice today with the "Little Kickers" program! The program is every Saturday for 45 minutes. We weren't too sure what to expect, but we were very, very impressed. It is very organized and completely tailored to Kellen's age group. He even got his very own soccer uniform!

Here is Kellen doing a spin in his brand new soccer uniform!
...and showing me the back of his uniform.
And now practicing running with the soccer ball (They call it practicing their little kicks, aka: dribbling). The soccer balls are so small - it is pretty cute to watch!
And big kick!

And sitting down to relax before it all begins.
Everyone helped Coach Steve put the soccer balls away so that the actual practice could begin.
Sitting together to say hello to all their friends.
And warming up their muscles by shaking out their arms, elbows, hips, and legs.
Watching Coach Steve set up for a drill.
And having a water break. Soccer practice was at 3pm today and it is 32 degrees outside...yikes!
Sitting on the orange line while the coaches set up the nets.
"On your mark...get set...GO!!"
Moving the ball all around their bodies.
And ending by putting your foot on your soccer ball to help stop and control the ball.
Watching Coach Steve set up for the next drill.
Little kicks across the field and....GOAL!!

At the end of practice the coaches bring everyone together and they do 3 cheers for Little Kickers!!! And, then everyone gets a sticker!
Hooray!!

More Time with my Great Abuelito

This past weekend, we traveled to Brockville to visit Lita and Grandpa and Great Abuelito! It was so nice to see everyone again (especially our time with Great Abuelito!). On Saturday, Levi, Phil, Phillipe, Mackensie, and Kennedy also came for a visit. I have many more pictures that I will post soon!

Here are Mackensie and Kennedy hanging out with Abuelito....he was teaching Mackensie how to play the guitar.
Learning how to play guitar.
A quiet moment between a great grandson and his Great Abuelito.
Kellen loved to sit on the reclining chair - and open up the side to put his drink and the remote control while he enjoyed having his feet up!
Kellen loved playing outside the entire weekend. He brought his garden tools and played in the dirt all the time. He also loved it when Great Abuelito spent time with him in the great outdoors. Here they are enjoying some yummy blueberries together.
Kellen enjoyed feeding the blueberries to Abuelito .... He would feed himself, then feed one to Abuelito. It was pretty cute!

....and now back to the digging.
And getting a helping hand from his Great Abuelito.

"Are you still hungry, Abuelito? Here are more blueberries."
...and one for Kellen.
What a lucky little boy - enjoying time with both his Lita and his Great Abuelito.

Kellen Meets His Great-Abuelito

This past weekend, my Abuelito came for a visit! It was the first time that he met Kellen. Our visit was so unbelievable. It was beyond amazing to see my Abuelito again - it has been 5 years since we have seen one another! The visit went by too fast - and we already miss our time with him. Kellen took an instant liking to him - calling him "Abel-lito"!
I love you so much, Abuelito.
Kellen hanging out with his Great-Abuelito - Abuelito brought us so many beautiful pictures of our precious Abuelita. It has been hard not having her with us for the visit, but we know that she is looking down on us and smiling.
My sweet Abuelito.
Lita had to sneak in some kisses too!
Kellen getting some tickles from his Great-Abuelito.
Mommy and her Abuelito.
Shawn loved having time to actually get to know Abuelito. They had lots of time to hang out and talk.
Here is Kellen showing his Great-Abuelito all of his toys.
Abuelito helped Kellen put together a long chain of mini-hangers.
Wearing his backpack and ready to head to the hotel for a swim!
Looking at pictures of Abuelita...
Kellen had his cooking class on Saturday morning. Great Abuelito and Lita joined us - here they all are posing with the mini chef!
Mommy and Kellen busy cooking up cupcakes.
And icing our ice cream cones.
Showing us his two wizard hats (iced ice cream cones on top of cupcakes!).
And enjoying his delicious ice cream sundae!
On Saturday, Lita, Abuelito, and Mommy went to The Ethiopian House for an amazing lunch. Abuelito loved the food, the ambiance, and the staff....so much so that he asked for a picture with our waitress!
Us after our yummy meal.
Hanging out in the afternoon....Kellen has a cold right now and was sooo tired.
....But he still had energy to go for a swim!!!
"Look at me swimming, Lita!!"
"And now look at me swimming with my Daddy!"
"Ahhhh, I love swimming!!"
Relaxing in the hotel room before dinner.
...and enjoying quiet cuddles with Great Abuelito.
Lita and Great Abuelito enjoying their time together over breakfast.
...and Kellen wasting time at breakfast watching a Dora episode on the IPod.
A beautiful moment in time captured between 2 of my favourite boys....
Precious.
Hanging out in Lita's hotel room. Kellen loved the hotel! He loved pressing the buttons in the elevator and hanging out in this cool room that has 2 beds!
Lita and Abuelito together - beautiful.
I think Lita and Abuelito love Kellen! They love him so much that they made a Kellen kiss sandwich!
4 generations of family - how lucky are we?
Attempting a group picture in the backyard - Kellen is wondering why he is always being asked to pose for pictures! By the way - check out our fence posts! Maybe sometime this year, we will get a fence to go along with those posts!
And another group shot....with much more success!
Abuelito and Shawn enjoying some time together.
Abuelito and Mommy - she was so happy to have time with her Abuelito. It has been far too long in between our visits together.
Attempting to take a picture, but Kellen was trying to tickle my face with a giant leaf!
Kellen is wondering why on earth does he have to pose again!!
