Kellen and Parker's Weekend Adventure!

On Thursday, Parker and Auntie April came for a visit!!! Kellen was beyond excited that his cousin, Parker, was coming to visit! For the 2 days leading up to their visit, Kellen would go around the house and mention all the things he wanted to show Parker! So, when the doorbell rang, Kellen could barely contain his excitement! Here are the boys just hanging out on that firsrt afternoon - they were watching Dora the Explorer and playing Mickey Mouse Clubhouse games on their own computers....yes, Kellen's techie ways rubbed off on Parker! It was really funny to see these two little guys hanging out while each on a computer! Off to the park! On the first night of their visit, we decided it would be nice to go for a walk and head to the park! Aren't they cute?!?!
Parker didn't want to try out one of Kellen's tricycles (Kellen loves to ride his tricycle to the park...he can peddle all by himself!) However, Parker decided it would be fun to push Kellen all the way to the park...it was so cute!!
Naturally, the moment we got to the park, Parker headed straight to the mailboxes! Here is Kellen running after him and wanting to know why Parker doesn't want to play at the park!
"I see you, Daddy!"

Kellen has no fear when it comes to climbing up things....last year, he had lots of trouble getting up this "rock climbing wall" at the park. This year, no problem! And climbing back down to do it all over again!
And here is Parker ready to go down the slide....except he decided that the slide was too fast, so he got back up and took the safe route back down the stairs.....Parker is too funny!
We took Parker and Kellen to the Science Center (April and Parker had never been!)....it was a complete zoo when we were there (thanks to March Break!). We got there 3 minutes after it had opened and already it was packed solid! Luckily, we were still able to get into the KidSpark! The first thing the boys went to was the water section. You can move things around to see how water will fall differently onto different tubes, etc. You can also go fishing for magnetic fish!
And here is Kellen going fishing!
Kellen is trying to push down on this machine....everytime you push down on it, it releases dry ice mist....cool.... Parker and Kellen trying to drive this little car.....they didn't get too far.
This is always Kellen's favourite thing to do at the Science Centre....there is a section where there are lots of different ramps that you can take a ball and drop it to see how far it will go down the ramp....Kellen spent the majority of the trip here.....and at the same ramp!
There is also a little shopping centre where the kids can get a mini shopping cart and actually collect food items...then, you go to the check out and the kids take turns pressing the buttons of the cash register while other kids put their items through....very fun!
This is the bottom of this cool tower....you can send "bricks" up to the top by using this hoist and then when you are at the top, you can build parts to the tower, or just drop the bricks back down to the ground. Kellen was not very impressed with the kids dropping bricks down....he quickly ran back to me to tell me that those kids were being dangerous.
After about two hours of playing at the Science Centre, we were all tired and in need of a snack (as it was lunch time!)....here we are having a little snack that we packed for our trip....and of course, Kellen and Parker were being funny and silly together! They boys were so well behaved during the entire trip - so proud of them! Ahhh, sisters!!
Leaving the Science Centre...Kellen found a leaf on the ground and he wanted to take it home to give to his Daddy.
Just hanging out outside the Science Centre...
And this was the best shot I could get of the two boys outside the Science Centre!
In front of the Science Centre, is this long tube....and naturally, the boys thought it would be fun to walk through it. Actually, Parker went in just a little bit, dropped his rocks and decided that was enough fun for him. Kellen went in the other end, and ran all the way through to help Parker pick up his rocks....then proceded to run through a couple of more times! Last week, we bought Kellen his very own umbrella! It has the characters from Toy Story on it! Kellen is beyond proud of his umbrella and brings it with him pretty much everywhere we go. Here he is walking to the car with his umbrella (he wanted to show it to Parker....and yes, we know...it is not raining!)
Later on that day, we decided to head over to Chapter's to look around the kids section and let the boys play with all the cool Thomas toys!
.....still playing....
Bathtime!!! Kellen and Parker had lots of fun playing in the bath together! Since they didn't have time for naps (who does when you are having so much fun together!?!?) it was early nights for the boys!
Bath time....Here is Kellen having fun fishing in the tub! Parker and Kellen enjoying some raspberries and cereal for breakfast.
This is what I get when I ask the two boys to look at me and smile for the camera.
...And this is what I get when I try to interrupt a really good episode of Dora!
....Okay, not too bad! Ahhh, cousins and best friends!!!! We had so much fun with Auntie April and Parker! The boys were great together - can't wait for our next adventure!

The boys looked like they had a great time; did you and April get a chance to actually relax too?
